What a sad news of the passing away of Nevada's Former Governor Kenny Guinn! My heartfelt and deepest condolences to his wife Dema Guinn and his family. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
I have a very pleasant personal experience and a cherished memory of the day I and my friend, Claudett Bohannon, met them early morning of 8/9/2004 in Carson City while hovering around the Governer's Mansion with our cameras... Mrs. Dema Guinn approached us, shook hands with us and upon hearing of our interest to take their pictures, she went to the vehicle where The Governer was poised to leave, and lo and behold! he was so gracious to come to us and let us photograph them right there. I was so happy and excited and humbled by his graciousness as I could never have expected such an experience in any other country...ONLY IN AMERICA!

Die Distel steht am Wegesrand vor einem Weizenfeld. Der Himmel ist blau mit ein paar Wolken und ich beschließe dass dieser Himmel ein toller Hintergrund ist und lege mich auf den Landwirtschaftsweg, richte die Kamera schräg nach oben und kämpfe mit den Einstellungen und ein bißchen mit dem Wind.
Ein älteres Ehepaar kommt des Weges:
Sie: "Guck mal da liegt wer"
Er beim Näherkommen: "Was demma foddografiere?" (Badisch für "was tun wir fotografieren?"
Ich deute auf die Distel... ein anderes Motiv ist auch nicht in Sichtweite. Mache mein Bild und schaue aufs Display.
Er im Weitergehen zu ihr etwas abfällig:
"Des sin alles Kompjuta heut"
Ja, sind es... euer Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine, Kaffeemaschine und das Auto auch :-)
Air Classik collection, Frankfurt 5 August 1985
Air Classik had a habit of regularly repainting the aircraft in their collection every few years or so. This Nord 1002 probably went through the process more than most, being noted not just in various different colour schemes but also with different registrations over the years.
After Air Classik disposed of its aircraft collection, it moved to Stuttgart airport where it was put on display on the spectator terrace there.
