IN Greek Mithology, Demeter had a daughter that was promised for Hades.

Demeter's daughter, Persephone, went to live on the underworld.

Demeter became punish the Earth and people no more became believed in Gods.

On Spring and Summer, one part of the year, Persephone stays with Demeter, who tends to the earth and keeps it fertile. For the other part of the year, Persephone returns to stay with Hades, Autumn and Winter are the seasons that Demeter miss her daughter. To me the colors of the Autumn and the dried leaves fallen, on floor are pure poesie and melancolie.

This is the tale of Persephone and Demeter.

This is the tale of those who remain silent to the threshold of existence.

This is the tale of the deaf and blind and those who have lost their voice. They lost their hands.

This is the tale of those who transform. Of those who grow wings. Of those who sing.

Of those who sow.

Of those who bring life!

The Search

Demeter, Persephone's mother, wanted to know about her daughter. But Cyane no longer had a body, no longer had a mouth to explain. And the girls didn't know what to tell her ...

Blinded by grief, Demeter sent an icy wind over the world that made the land barren.

This series of pictures was loosely based in the myth of the abduction of Persephone, the Goddess daughter of Demeter and Zeus. Some scenes are depicted in the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, others in Ovid's Metamorphoses.

In ancient Greek religion and mythology, Demeter (/dɪˈmiːtər/; Attic: Δημήτηρ Dēmḗtēr [dɛːmɛ́ːtɛːr]; Doric: Δαμάτηρ Dāmā́tēr) is the goddess of the harvest and agriculture, presiding over grains and the fertility of the earth. Her cult titles include Sito (Σιτώ), "she of the Grain", as the giver of food or grain, and Thesmophoros (θεσμός, thesmos: divine order, unwritten law; φόρος, phoros: bringer, bearer), "Law-Bringer", as a mark of the civilized existence of agricultural society.

Though Demeter is often described simply as the goddess of the harvest, she presided also over the sacred law, and the cycle of life and death. She and her daughter Persephone were the central figures of the Eleusinian Mysteries, a religious tradition that predated the Olympian pantheon, and which may have its roots in the Mycenaean period c. 1400–1200 BC.[5] Demeter was often considered to be the same figure as the Anatolian goddess Cybele, and she was identified with the Roman goddess Ceres.

The Greek goddess Demeter was given poppies by the gods to help her sleep after her daughter Persephone was abducted. After this, poppies sprang from Demeter’s footsteps.

Demeter awaits ever so eargerly for the Spring. The long cold Winter has been one of great torment to her soul. The reunion of the Mother and Child is the whole of her being.

Roman Period

Goddess of fertility, agriculture, horticulture, grain and harvest. She was often holding a torch. Please tell me if there is anything I can do to improve her.

Cyrene was an ancient Greek and Roman city near present-day Shahhat, Libya. It was the oldest and most important of the five Greek cities in the region. It gave eastern Libya the classical name Cyrenaica that it has retained to modern times.

Cyrene was founded in 630 BC as a settlement of Greeks from the Greek island of Thera (Santorini).

Cyrene is referred to in the deuterocanonical book 2 Maccabees. The book of 2 Maccabees itself is said by its author to be an abridgment of a five-volume work by a Hellenized Jew by the name of Jason of Cyrene who lived around 100 BC.

Cyrene is also mentioned in the New Testament. A Cyrenian named Simon carried the cross of Christ.

Cyrene is now an archeological site near the village of Shahhat. One of its more significant features is the temple of Apollo which was originally constructed as early as 7th century BC. Other ancient structures include a temple to Demeter and a partially unexcavated temple to Zeus There is a large necropolis approximately 10 km between Cyrene and its ancient port of Apollonia. Since 1982, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This image has been in my mind for so long and it feels so good to get it out. It's kind of like listening to a song that has been stuck in your head (but I usually have to listen to it over and and over). I thought this looked like a still from a movie so I decided to do a cinematic crop.

The rest of the series is on my tumblr. I thought I would stop spamming you guy with shots from this concept. I hope you guys have enjoyed the series!
