Fruits of a stinking iris / Übelriechende Schwertlilie (Iris foetidissima)

It is known as "stinking" because some people find the smell of its leaves unpleasant when crushed or bruised, an odour that has been described as "beefy". (Wikipedia)

Capturing a subject in New England Autumn colors is a must every year for me. A young white tailed buck stops to groom himself in front of some wonderful fall colors.
Aubrieta (Aubrietia, ‘Murasaki-Nazuna’ in Japanese) is a genus of flowering plant in the cabbage family. The photo is of a cultivar of Aubrieta deltoidea, a species native to southern Europe and western Asia. It produces delightful blue-purple flowers in spring. One of my favorite spring delights.
the drive home was very nice tonight. pulled up in a pub car park and got this. countryman pub Hertfordshire. the light is coming from the moon
On my way to Kamloops, I had thoughts in mind for a photo of the hoodoos prior to sundown. However, an unintended delay stretched my departure and I missed my planned arrival. To that end it is always a good idea to have an alternate destination. There are so many opportunities out there that the one in mind will wait for another day.
This place was my alternate destination and has often rendered terrific results. However, since "you never know till you go", meant observing this rather unique event. The red line in the sky was occurring at the sunset hour and reflecting off the Thompson River. A short walk and I was in an ideal spot to catch this isolated event.
