The most widespread heron in Europe. Though the heron will stand motionless for hours on end when feeding or resting they will also stalk their prey with a slow deliberate pace which is followed with a lightning strike of the bill.

In the end
far too late
we ask what will remain
but the world had closed her eyes
there's nothing left but pain
I wish we could smell the sea
I wish I could hold you
that you would hold me
you can't save me; I can't save you
Beauty lies within
... deliberately and left me behind
beauty lies within
a face full of scars
poison sinking into skin
Locked in our minds
you can't save me; I can't save you

A deliberately out of focus shot of the near frosty conditions early on this week. Lying down on the grass catching these motes of sunshine and droplets. HSoS:))
Many thanks for all your kind comments and enjoy your day
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Deliberate play on words before anyone points out the spelling error those suspiciously placed leaves...honestly, I didn't put them there...but their position is sooo suspicious I am guessing a photog was here shortly before me đ€
Cautious, but not that bothered sheep eyeing us on the way up the Torr Head. I deliberately used the title of a Cranberries song - a band that has "Ireland" written all over it :) :) :)
Torr Head, a slight detour on the Causeway Coastal Route is the closest point between Scotland and Ireland and offers spectacular views of Mull of Kintyre.

Please come
and deliberately chill me
I sit and wait
I wait for your touch
to jump start me
to course through me
nothing...
Why am I denied?
Will I ever feel again?
Just a chill please...

We had deliberated timed our hike so that we would arrive on or near the summit of Haystacks at last light. Innoninate Tarn along with Blackbeck Tarn are the two main stretches of water to be found on thew higgledy piggledy summit.
This view catches Mark looking towards the sunset whilst the bulk of Great Gable catches a little alpenglow.
I have another shot very similar to this without Mark and can't decide which I prefer.

A deliberately under-exposed portrait of a female Blackbird in the garden earlier. She was in bright sunlight against a dark background, enabling this effect to be achieved.
A deliberately "gritty" feel to this as I used the rough monochrome setting on the camera. Trying something different!

I deliberately chose this photo of Kriebstein Castle in Saxony, a small player with long exposure, for today.
And this is due to the symbolism of the circles in the foreground created by the movement of the water.
Right now, at the end of a year and the beginning of a new one, we often think of "a new round" of a repeat. We feel the same way about birthdays or even in the morning, at the beginning of a new day. In the big picture we call it the cycle of life. But all of these are, fortunately, not circles, because that would mean that we would inevitably have to return to our starting point again and again. But we don't have to.
With every "circumnavigation" we have the opportunity to see something new, learn something new and change something. We have the opportunity to grow and develop further. And ideally, each circle is at a higher level than the circle before it.
In this way, the circle of life becomes an ascending spiral of life, the incline of which we can determine ourselves every single day.
With this in mind, I wish you all a good transition into the coming year.
Vas'ka has very expressive eyes. But sometimes he looks like a little bit crazy, It always ends with funny jumps and grimaces, as if he deliberately makes us laugh. That is why I like this picture.
Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
The Eiffel Tower is a 330-metre-high iron
truss tower in Paris. Along a frieze on the first floor are
72 names of important scientists and technicians, 18
on each side. Criticism is levelled at the deliberate
omission of scientists with long surnames and also
women who rendered outstanding services to science,
for example also the important French mathematician
Sophie Germain.

Another deliberate motion shot...I had my camera fixed to a tripod waiting to take images of the 'Christmas star' and this loud boat of partygoers came into my frame...sunset and champagne work wonders on the mood of people in Summer!
This was one of my photos I was deliberately going to try and get at high tide just at the edge of Dunbar; Belhaven Bridge. I had seen it a few times on YouTube including with Gary Gough.
Unfortunately the high tide wasn't quite high enough to completely cover the sand, but close at 4.3m.
An ND10 plus ND4 filter to get a long smoothed out ocean....
The Biel Water is a stream that could be seen as the landmark of the Biel village. Starting at the Luggate Burn, the river runs for 4,5 kilometres (almost 3 miles) right through the village and finally meets the Belhaven Bay in Southern Scotland. During low tide, locals and tourists can use the bridge to walk over the Biel Water and get to the Belhaven Bay beach. The scenery of this beach combines sand dunes with salt marsh and grasslands that provide a splash of colour.
A very deliberate composition using the famous small black church of Budir framed against the bulk of the hills behind - a brief break in the cloud let the sun through. My favourite shot from my trip to Iceland.
Deliberately light on contrast - I rather like it. Do you? As always thank you for your views, comments and likes :))

Crazy Tuesday - theme of April 19, 2022: Lens Flare(s)
deliberate lens flares - taken with the manual vintage Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 - wide open
I have noticed only now that this manual lens creates its erratic flares more easily with the older K-5 than with the K-70 (my current camera). Maybe due to the different sensors (missing low pass filter?) ... I don't know.
Has been fun nonetheless : ))
Will try it again with the K-5 though (didn't have the body with me this weekend)

Nice clear night to get a shot of the city and a shot of the moon and "bleed" them together. This is deliberately a bit tongue-in-cheek and "artistic licence" with the size of it.
Deliberately under-exposed and brought back a little using Lightroom. I was looking to emphasise shapes and textures rather than the usual blast of colour these ubiquitous and much-loved flowers provide. From a potted small variety growing in shelter at my home on the Gold Coast hinterland.

Taken near Hope, British Columbia, Canada.
We went out on Saturday morning and found a little used track in the mountains. By unusually good luck I found myself in the middle of a warbler fallout, almost all of the Yellow-rumped variety.
My attention (as may be expected) was focused on the tops of conifers where I would say 200+ warblers were cavorting from limb to limb with avian zest. In the midst of this event, this... this...... (might I say jealous resident) descended from on high and began to pose at close unobscured distances from my camera. I took this as a deliberate attempt by this vain fellow to purvey attention for himself (or for herself as the case may be......nuance).
Yes, this is an unusually camera friendly Steller's Jay!

Not deliberately broken for the theme! On holiday in Cornwall and just got my phone out of my pocket and then it started disintegrating in front of my eyes - what a disaster! Thankfully now sorted out with a new phone! HMM!
Just a simple Snapograph taken at Dungeness Romney Marsh Kent UK of one of the many discarded boats amongst many other things scattered about the beach that have just been discarded and left behind.
I've deliberately gone for a slightly higher contrast gritty look to this snap to emphasise the decay etc.
I'm also working on a personal project called Things Left Behind and this will be one of the shots included.
RX10M4, 1/800th F5.6, ISO-100, Bit Of Fill Flash, Tripod.
"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to put amongst their "FAVES".
"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to leave a "Comment", I'll do my very best to reply to you individually.
Self-involvement, social solipsism, individual solipsism, anthropocentrism, narcissism, ego, pride, entitlement, etc, etc .... vanities all for the bonfire. The play on Tom Wolfe is absolutely deliberate.

More stuff from FGC and some upcoming stuff! Fantasy stuff is my weakness.
For anyone that needs a good scene or even people who might need a dungeon for an RP scene or sim, check out Violetility's Mordred gacha! There is an exchange option for people who might need copy versions of whatever you get, as well. <3
There's also a gacha set from Bauhaus Movement, if you haven't checked that out as well! The Liang Set, which includes beautiful accessories such as this headdress.
PocketGacha opens up soon, and Zibska will have a new set there! On the 15th, you can give it a few whacks where ever you are. It's full of lots of colourful variety, pretty noir eye options and even a few pastel things! I can already tell I'll have fun with it. They also have a jewelry set which you can see here, and a makeup set, the Eirwen, coming to Senses on the 15th, as well!
If you haven't gone to ROMP yet, I recommend you check out the Stockholm & Lima Nawashi House Tie Beam! While it does come with some built-in Shibari ropes, they also sell some prettier ones that hook up to the thing, like the one I'm wearing here. I'll make sure to show off the actual beam in the coming days!

Or: A Hard Day's Light
Macro Monday: #HardLight
Backlit by sunlight through the living room window and deliberately overexposed. To prevent too many blown out parts I'd even set the exposure control to -0,7 EV. I do see the contradiction, underexpose in order to overexpose ;-), but the low February sun was so bright that it almost was too much. Processed in Luminar 3 and ON1 Photo RAW 2019 (the usual suspects: detail enhancement [small], microstructure, clarity, decreased whites/highlights, increased contrast and vibrance, tweaked HSL and curves, and brightened the background in Viveza). I have an image with better (correct) exposure, but it is a little on the soft side, and since the theme is "Hard Light"... And yes, that green thing in the lower left corner is a clothespin. It looked nicely odd, so I decided to leave it like that.

A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!

Transport for Wales 'Coradia' unit 175106 catches a bit of winter sun while standing at Chester's platform 4 as she waits time before working the 10.52am Chester - Manchester Airport (1H85) service.
Deliberately underexposed by 1.67 stops to have the front-end and those Victorian side-girders dominate the image. Looks best full-screen.

Chinese gardens are constructed to recreate and miniaturize larger natural landscapes. Traditionally, Chinese gardens blend unique, ornate buildings with natural elements. Just about every Chinese garden contains architecture, like a building or pavilion; decorative rocks and a rock garden; plants, trees and flowers; and water elements, like ponds. Most Chinese gardens are enclosed by a wall and some have winding paths. Chinese gardens arenât just thrown together. Instead, theyâre deliberately designed and visitors should walk through them in the particular order that the garden was laid out.
The Chinese Garden of Friendship (simplified Chinese: è°ć; traditional Chinese: èȘŒć) is a heritage-listed 1.03-hectare (3-acre) Chinese garden at 1 Harbour Street, in the Sydney Central Business District, City of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Modelled after the classic private gardens of the Ming Dynasty, the garden offers an insight into Chinese heritage and culture. It was designed by Guangzhou Garden Planning & Building Design Institute, Tsang & Lee, and Edmond Bull & Corkery and built from 1986 to 1988 by Gutteridge Haskins & Davey; the Darling Harbour Authority; Imperial Gardens; Leightons; and Australian Native Landscapes. The gardens were added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 5 October 2018. The Chinese Garden of Friendship was designed by Sydney's Chinese sister city, Guangzhou in China. Sydney's Chinatown complements the area's already rich in Chinese heritage and culture. The garden was officially opened 17 January 1988 as part of Sydney's Bicentennial Celebrations and named the Chinese Garden of Friendship symbolising the bond established between China and Australia. 15051

Have You Ever Seen The Rain - I deliberately tried to shoot at a slower shutter speed here to extend the raindrops. Was tough maintaining a good keeper rate in these conditions, but was a lot of fun to capture this image before fleeing the grasslands to the car.
One of the few wildlife rain images I have captured over the years. Recently, I've set a goal for myself in 2023 to incorporate more habitat and elemental conditions in my images - i.e. background/setting, rain, snow, wind etc.

I believe this fire was lit deliberately and not by the owner nor by the leaseholder! I believe it was arson. Sadly!
Being the first on the scene in this relatively remote area, we quickly assessed the situation, went back along the road to get help and to raise the alarm. Before the rural fire brigade teams arrived, we used branches to extinguish the flames in the grass around the homestead and around the main shed.
Thankfully the grass was still somewhat green and the humidity was not very low, so the fire advanced at a reasonably slow pace and with low flame front. Buildings were saved, and the fire extinguished. Fences, a power-pole and gates were burnt. The result has been that the fire became a 'naturally controlled' burn prior to the high risk fire season of next spring and summer.
