It was raining all day, so I spent some time re-editing an older capture. Hope you are having better weather.

Then there are some attractions you definitely won't want to miss. The slender tower of the New Church, almost 110 m tall, has been a recognisable landmark in Delft for centuries. And if you climb the 367 steps to the top of the second highest church tower in the Netherlands, you have an amazing view out over the city and the surrounding area.
Not far from the New Church is the Old Church, also known by the local residents as ‘Scheve Jan’ (Crooked John) on account of the strange kink in the tower. Both churches have international allure because of all the famous people from Dutch history who have been interred within their walls. Next to the Old Church is the Museum Prinsenhof Delft, an elegant historical building which was once the home of William of Orange. Here you can discover the history of Delft (and the rest of the Netherlands) and the origins of Delft Blue ceramics. A visit to Delft would naturally not be complete without a visit to one of the local earthenware factories, where you can see and experience the world-famous Delft Blue ceramics and pottery being made in the traditional way And last but not least: get up close and personal with Johannes Vermeer in the city where this world-famous painter lived and worked his entire life. Sometimes the cars are parked so close to the water, the driver has to step out on the other side or has to be an acrobat.

The Eastern Gate (Oostpoort) in Delft, an example of Brick Gothic northern European architecture, was built around 1400. Around 1510 the towers were enhanced with an additional octagonal floor and high spires. This is the only city gate remaining in Delft; the others were demolished in the 19th century. It currently serves as an art gallery and private residence.

Back from the cottage gentrification project ready for the season and our isolation oasis I hope that you enjoy the continuation of my re-edit visit to the Netherlands from fall 2017 to continue on unabated until arriving in Amsterdam for my final post in the series.
Thanks for all the supportive comments on this Dutch Masters process development and those that just like to have something trying to be a little distracting in their feed other than today’s current events,
my goal is to hopefully trigger a memory or the want of a memory of someplace you would like to be.
As mentioned before my short break, Delft is where we will pick up my reverse chronological order Dutch revisit, captured here is what I thought to be Vermeer’s corner but now upon some reflection realize it is not his view but it is a view of Delft just the same and not a bad one.
Delft is an easy day trip from almost any location in the Netherlands making it an excellent day trip, the core is easily walkable, chock full of historic treasures, wonderful shops, warm cafes and beautiful views and should not be missed.
I took this on Sept 17th, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 58mm 1/40s, f/16 ISO 100 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , Luminar and DXO

Wonderful little university town in the Netherlands
this is the Wijnhaven, the cafe and the street are having the same name.
This street is first mentioned in 1534, then called the Wijnstraat (Wine street).
The lights in and around the Wijnhaven are here all year long and give a nice atmosphere

Cityscape with in the middle the Rietveldse Tower. This is one of the 22 walltowers that surrounded Delft in the 16e century. The tower is since 1967 an official monument of the Netherlands. Delft, The Netherlands
Another Delft scene from the back of the church and unsure exactly where in town but had to get this shot of one of one of my favorite beers, Hertog Jan from Arcen where I sometimes stay when visiting my companies factory in Geldern Germany, it is a small brewery that really isn’t well known outside of its region except to those lucky to have discovered it.
Whatever your beer pleasure get used to “Tiny Heinies” as we always called them, for a Canadian its like drinking beer shooters so always had to ask for groot beer when you hit the bar.
There are large swathes of Delft completely preserved from its beginnings but also large parts that have been extensively rebuilt like the areas of fire of the 16th century when over 2300 houses, businesses and church properties burned to the ground or during the 17th century a hundred years later a massive gunpowder explosion destroyed a full 1/3 of the city.

The city square of Delft is an old one, lots of people crossed this square for buying groceries, go to parties, to cityhall meetings. Lots of tourists come to admire the old city hall and the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) that is opposite the city hall.
These days we're having a Chrismastree which gives a special view on the square.
