Today, a year ago, we were present at a party, to see the demolition of this building. It was the start for us to our new build appartment Blooming: blooming-oosterhout.nl/
Unfortunately my husband died at the end of last year, but I decided to go forward with this project if possible, because his oldest brother and sister in law also had bougt an appartment there.
Only recently, in May this year, the new build has started! It will take some time until it's ready, planned completion is at the end of 2026. In the mean time I just sold our house and in Octobre I will be moving to a temporarary sort of tiny house at a campsite.

The galleries give a unique sense of space, enclosing the nave on three sides.
Master builder George Bähr designed the church with five gallery levels. He divided the first of these galleries into individual prayer rooms with windows at its front end. Wealthy Dresden citizens were able to hire these rooms. This gallery is a faithful copy of the original in visual terms, but without a subdivision into individual rooms in view of the use made of the church today.

In communist town an area was known as “Korzo” – a block or two of cafes and milk bars (a communist Fast Food place). These government restaurants provided cheap and fast meals for working people. Korzo provided the a place for friends to meet up. In Bratislava, Korzo extended from Michael’s gate down to Old Town Square. The Korzo rock memorializes the midpoint.
Milk bars, were government-subsidized cafeterias from the Communist days. They were no-frills eateries created to provide affordable, hearty meals for labourers. Vegetarian, milk and other dairy-based meals were served because there was a surplus of these products and a scarcity of meat. Hence, the name "milk bar."

I guess all of you know and kinda hate that when U take a pic and the dudes ask you to delet it, cause 'thiiis and thaaat...and I look horrible on pics'..bla...But last day a horrible thing has happened to me. I took the pic and was too tired to process and upload it(you know I was ill, and preferred sleeping). Than on the next morning i DELETED all the pics from last day 'cause this and that..' Pff. what a dush..So I decided to make the shot I planned so long ago..and yeah, it's a cheating pic..I did two days after day 90...But at least I didn't sleep last night:)

This appears to be made from 3 pieces of wood the head and body are one piece and the arms are two other pieces.
Port-Royal is a national historic site because of its legacy: French culture, commerce and colonization, and the experiences of Mi'kmaq and French colonists, covering the period from 1605 to 1613; and the replica of the Habitation as a milestone in the Canadian heritage movement.

The Fairmont Le Château Montebello or simply Château Montebello is a hotel and resort complex in Montebello, Quebec. The retreat is set in 26,305 hectares (65,000 acres) of a forested wildlife sanctuary and 70 lakes on the shore of the Ottawa River. It is the largest log building in the world.
A special spur from the nearby CPR (Canadian Pacific Railway) line had to be built to allow for the transport of red cedar logs and other supplies to the site. Construction and woodworking teams worked in overlapping shifts around the clock using electric lighting at night. The church did not approve of working on the Sabbath; but by coincidence, the local curé was dispatched on an all-expenses paid trip to Rome for two months while the work proceeded apace.
3500 laborers ensured that the project could be completed in four months. The grand opening was on 1 July 1930.
The constructed buildings on the site contain 10,000 logs, 500,000 hand-slit cedar roof shakes and 166 km (103 miles) of wooden moulding.
The log walls are painted black on the outside, but the interiors display the natural beauty of the wood. which was all shipped by rail from British Columbia.
There are 211 guest rooms, including 14 suites, organized in four wings which fan out from the rotunda, with additional wings for the dining room and the ballroom. There are 17 rooms and a total of 17,000 square feet (1,600 m2) of meeting space available for business purposes.
