An image scanned and uploaded 11 years ago which I've tried to improve upon, but without success. So here's the unadulterated original given another run-out......
In the more forgiving landscape east of Woodhead, 1500v DC electrics 76036 and 76032 round the curve at Shorehall Crossing with an eastbound Trans-Pennine fitted freight.
The Manchester, Sheffield, Wath route wasn't one you might typically associate with bucolic surroundings, but this very pleasant spot, complete with a signal cabin, certainly ticked all the right boxes. God's Own Country, some might say.
Sadly the line closed in 1981 as a through route, and the only traffic seen here these days are hikers and riders using the Trans Pennine Trail, which the trackbed became.

Another archives from the shot: A Ruby-Throated Hummingbird warns off another as it passes by. The vast majority of photos that I take that are not tack sharp are instantly deleted. Sometimes the camera creates a brush painting effect that I cannot explain nor care to learn how to do, or make it stop. Most may not, but I like it!

Two take-aways from this weeks challenge for me:
1) Creating an interesting image of an eraser is far from easy
2) No matter how much you clean between the keys on your keyboard it still looks like a biohazard.
As I do not intend to delete any photo from this gallery and I also do not intend to renew the PRO account, I will keep it as it is since I am prevented from uploading any more photos from 8 January.

Good to the last bite. A single appleseed in the core of a well eaten Empire apple. This is an 51-image focus bracket, created with an Olympus Systems OM1 mkii, Olympus Systems 90mm ƒ3.5 Pro. Stacked using HeliconFocus v9.0.4 combining Methods B,R8, S4 and C,S4.

Just as I pressed the button, this shieldbug took off, and I cursed assuming that I had (yet another) empty leaf shot.... but when I viewed the image to delete it, I realised that it had captured the event just at the right moment! Talk about lucky!!

Brier Island is frequently inundated by fog and has witnessed 57 recorded shipwrecks.
The first lighthouse was wooden structure, the first lighthouse on SW coast of Nova Scotia. In 1818 it was described as "so vilely constructed and ill lighted" it was a hazard. By 1832 it had been rebuilt, due inefficiency. This light was an octagonal wood tower with a metal lantern. The building was painted white, with 3 red bands. A large fog signal building also stood on the site. This tower burned in 1944 and was replaced by the current concrete tower.

Ich habe Bilder versehendlich gelöscht, nun lade ich sie wieder hoch.
I have deleted the pictures by mistake, now I inserted them again.
A bit different from the norm...but then again I am a bit different from the norm right?!? I have no idea what this was or how it happened. I was going to delete some photos off my hard-drive to make room for more and came across this. This was one of those photos that I almost clicked the delete button on but stopped myself.
Have a great weekend everyone!!! I am heading off to my first solo show. I have 8 photos hanging on the wall of the Lava Lounge in Cleveland, Ohio. I am going to meet other friends form the Exposure Cleveland Flickr Group. Wish me luck!
