Mussoorie is a hill station and a municipal board in the Dehradun District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is located about 35 km from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km north from the national capital of New Delhi.

The initial image taken at Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India in February 2010, where I spent an enjoyable few hours one afternoon observing the stock moves and departures. Also visiting that day was Lucknow Depot's WDM-3A 14068 that was about to undertake some marshalling of coaching stock and entertain a well pleased visitor with a camera. Happy Days!

In Mussoorie, me and my uncle stayed for a night and wathced Mahatma Gandhi Statue and Library area, nearby one bus/taxi stand was there. Before the time of watching I told my uncle that I want to shoot a night view of Mussoorie. He told me no problem, can we do that after dinner. I told nope, it was laready 7:00PM, before dinner I shoot and go for dinner. The temperature approx 2-3 degree in open area. I found one railing at the Viewpoint of the road. There are several viewpoint in Mussoorie. Interesting I found another guy who was trying to capture night shot view of Mussoorie with tripod. I asked him about the capture quality, he didn't replied anything only moving his head. I was very curios what he trying to capture. This Capture is the result of my curiosity. I have taken at least 7/8 photographs, without tripod(make it through railing). Among those captures this is found better. Why 7/8 because long exposure shots you need to adjust f stops and shutter speed.

Approx one hour spent for the shot.
Light fog/smog is there which comes up in capture as a thin lines. This is one of the interesting shot as because, if you fly in a night flight/plane from up area you will see city lights like the same.
There are grains in this Photograph.

Dehradun is a "hotspot" for birds and you can spot a rich and diverse range of birds almost everywhere. This colorful creature is a Flameback which at this time of the year has been voraciously eating ants off the trees.
The flameback is a little difficult bird to capture as it always has its clawhold on the side away from the light, preferably, and inline with the tree branch or stalk on which it moves around. Rarely does it sit transversely as in this shot here. Just for a moment maybe...

I "rested" from Flickr for 10 days. I was at home. Relaxing with my family and dog. It is raining non-stop in Dehradun for a month now, so no photography this time.

Lucknow's WDM-3A 16292R was engaged in a spot of passenger stock shunting at Dehradun, Uttarakhand in this view taken in February 2010.
To the right of the locomotive the shell of the former steam shed was still in situ. The intervening years have seen the station area at Dehradun re-modelled, the old engine shed was demolished and electrification infrastructure installed.
The Alco locomotive was condemned in October 2022 and placed in the scrap auction early in 2023.
