I really like the moss and the mist creating the colour tones and the way the tree splays it branches give the shot real dynamism (I hope)

Sweetwater Strand - Big Cypress National Preserve (FL)

I love these sorts of swampy scenes - they remind me of Degobah from Star Wars, where Yoda hangs out. This area is called a "cypress strand", which is an a kind of forested wetland habitat that is flooded with water and has cypress trees growing out of it. They're known for having a lot of wildlife due to being very lush. Alligators like to dig holes under water in these, so that in the dry season a pool forms for animals to gather and then get eaten, making this probably one of the scarier spots I waded in. I'm glad I didn't see any alligators.

Created with sticks and dried out leaves from the local woods and also with allot of patience and love. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this shoot. We are looking forward to getting get this signed by Dave Barclay the puppeteer for Yoda in September 22

Mount Huangshan is one of China's top tourist destinations. A UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its scenic beauty and historic interest, it is a wild landscape covered with forests of stone pillars, twisted pines clung to cliffsides, cascading waterfalls and hot springs, all squeezed between 77 craggy peaks of 1000m or more. Through the ages, Huangshan has provided the inspiration for painters drawn to the sea of clouds, poets who penned 20,000 poems celebrating its wonders, and in recent times, film directors like Ang Lee who brought its beauty to the masses in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

The landscape is fantastic and ever-changing with the light. When the clouds move in the canyons become even more surreal, appearing like a blend of Middle-earth, Degobah and other mystical worlds. Gollum, Yoda and an Ewok could easily reside here. Cha-ka, too.

My good friends, Ryan and Elaine, recently invited me to join them and Elaine's parents on a hiking trip to this region. We spent three days going up and down what Ryan figured was well over forty thousand steps, some of which stuck out of the side of cliffs with nothing but a thousand feet of air below them. I will be sharing more photos from the trip; this is the one that seemed to last in my mind the longest after we had left.

I just got back from my annual trip to Courtland Funday. On Thursday night the power was out in Courtland. The stars were incredible with none of the lights in town lit up. I tried a lot of different camera setting combinations to try to get a good shot. I think this was one of the better attempts. This was taken from the field directly across the street from the Degobah (aka Tanner and Travs house).

Please follow my Facebook page. No Photoshop, Possibly the toughest shoot I’ve done, the figures kept falling over. I put blue tac on their feet and Luke’s hand and oh my god it was sooo annoying!

Emperor Palpatine has asked Stormtrooper Bruce to provide survival training for an elite group of hand picked troopers headed off to Degobah on a secret mission, in search of a secluded Rebel Base where certain droids are suspected to be hiding. STB is brushing up on his technique when the guys stop by.

TK-432: Vader's Dogs! What in the Galaxy are you doing with that thing in your quarters?

STB: The Tine wants me to train some Fancy Pants Troopers how to survive on Degobah while they're on a secret mission which I can't talk about.

TK-432: So tell me again, why do you have that thing in your quarters?

STB: It's one of the most vicious turtles found in those swamps, and if you can catch it without getting a limb bitten off, it's also one of the tastiest things on the planet. This one's a hatchling, but still capable of biting off anything that gets too close.

TK-1110: Dude, are you serious! That thing must be crazy vicious, otherwise you wouldn't have your gun sitting right here on your bed.

STB: You guys! You act like you've never been through survival training before. As long as you hold it like this, it can't bite anything. And for your information, my gun is set to stun, not to blast a hole through the wall.

TK-432: Stop swinging that thing toward my face! Where'd you get it, anyway?

STB: I kinda borrowed it from The Tine's Petting Zoo. I was going to ask you two to help me sneak it back in after I'm through with my training class tomorrow, and help me sneak out a few of the snakes for the next days lesson.

TK-1110: Are you sure this is just on stun? Because I think I need to zap you a couple of times with it, to see if it'll put some common sense back in your head. That's one of the craziest things you've ever asked us to do!

TK-432: Yeah, but still... it might be fun. I'm in!

As far as I know, there are no descriptions of droids from the Degobah system. I imagine this machine was used for X-rays at one time. Now useless and decrepit, repurposed for a space battle.

I don’t usually create scenes of films, here’s Luke Skywalker training on Degobah with Master Yoda, Yodas teachings are surrounding! SidiousArt.com

This is nowhere near how I imagined it, but at least it's vaguely creative for a change. Click here to get an idea of where I wanted to go with this. Unfortunately in the Degobah system there aren't that many garden fences, so it spoils the illusion a bit.

I borrowed Ben's lightsaber torch and spent a very cold 15 minutes in the back garden skulking around like an idiot. I didn't think I'd got a shot worth using, but this one was decent enough to make the effort with.

This is one of an increasing number of occasions when I wish I had another flash. I like the back lighting but the excess of shadow to the left of the shot is a bit too much. But hey, never mind. I got outside for a change, which was great because I've been going a little stir-crazy taking photos against the same wall for the last god knows how many days.

Now I'm off to kick some evil Empire ass . . .

I have an UCS Imperial Shuttle!!! Tonight I traded everything in that last pic, (blacktron base, mos eisley cantina, degobah xwing) as well as my red/black custom rep gunship, and a regular 7676 gunship, and the green cargo airplane - for this gem. Flawless box, tho not for long. I'll be tearin this baby open tomorrow.

Having been asked by Emperor Palpatine to provide survival training for an elite group of hand picked troopers headed to Degobah on a secret mission, Stormtrooper Bruce asked Boba Fett to bring the Venomous Snake Eye Detection Chart he once used back in the day for his own training purposes.

STB: Thanks for bringing the chart. The Fancy Pants Troopers survived their first weeks training, so I'm starting their snake training tomorrow and I remember how handy the chart was when I went through your training.

TK-1110: Dude! I can't believe you and TK-432 actually stole all those snakes from The Tine's Petting Zoo. And you do realize one has just escaped, right?

STB: OK, let's get one thing clear. We borrowed the snakes. I'll return them when I'm done. And why are you hiding behind the t.v.? Look at the chart. Can't you see it's harmless?

TK-1110: There's no way I'm getting close enough to tell what kind it is. I'm staying back here! Besides, I don't trust one of Fett's charts.

Fett: Let me get this straight. You're a seasoned Trooper, a trained killer, an adrenaline junkie who once claimed his middle name was Danger, but you're scared of a little bitty snake?

TK-432: When's the pizza coming? I'm getting hungry!

TK-1110: Dude, isn't that the bogus eye chart you told us Fett used in your training? It's just eye scans of the different aliens he's brought in.

Fett: Awww, they're not just wanted criminals, some are people you actually know. One of them is Palpatine's. And a new one I just added is STB's shapeshifting girlfriend. It's not bogus. There's all kinds of danger in the galaxy, you just need to be able to recognize it in order to survive.

TK-432: Whatever. How many pizzas did you order?

STB: For the last time... that thing was not my girlfriend.

TK-1110: Chart, shmart. Could somebody please, for the love of the Emperor, put that snake back in the cooler? We're missing the movie!

Perched on a log at the end of a dry river. Sat a dirty dog and an angel.

Luke Skywalker on Degobah with Yoda on back

Yoda tried a different Hiding place. However, there were already 7 stranded castaways already there...well, 3 stranded castaways.

Luke Skywalker on Degobah with Yoda on back

This was made for my cousin. He requested I make him a Yoda for Christmas '09. He is the 3rd Installment.

He specifically wanted a soft Yoda he could snuggle with, bendable ears to fit into his hood, and with a cane and lightsaber.

I added a bit of special-ness to it by having hard-core magnets in his hands and props (cane and lightsaber), so he is fully equipped with THE FORCE

Not really, its La Jolla.

I had trouble naming this image. I originally wanted to call it the black cauldron. But I looked that up and cauldron is a pot, like a witches brew pot. Then I thought, the abyss. No, thats a dark hole with no end in site. Like heading off to hell or something.

Any way, from yesterday, when I was working REALLY hard on my EXTREME exposures. This was the ONLY one that came out with this point of view. The others had that light line. At which I have a tip on what it might be and today I will play around and experiment so I can confirm what it is. There are some nice clouds out today, and I am pretty sure that La Jolla is not in my near future, so I have to do SOMETHING! :)

Oh, Any one out there remember the place that Yoda lives, in Star Wars? The swamp? Thats what this looks like! If I can remember the name of that planet, thats what I will name this image! But I am too lazy to google it, so if some one can tell me, that would be great! :) (Thank you Justin!)

Ok, enjoy for now. Geek talk, I used the B+W ND110 and the Tiffen ND8, for a total of 13 stops.

He has movable eye lids and mouth, so I couldn't help but to give him a snarl and cigar

NAKED YODA! he's been de-robed.

He's actually standing with his cane. I was flabbergasted!
