I have been playing around with images I took last year at Mulvey Basin, in Valhalla Provincial Park.
I originally shot this as three images intending to convert it to HDR. It took me until now to do so. It is not the best job, but I like the surreal feel to it. It is reflective of the stunningly surreal experience of being there.
I love this view of Mulvey Basin. It looks so much different than from the Summits. I wish to head in later in the summer this year and camp in the basin itself...

Since yesterday, Sunday 29th of November 2009 the construction of "minarets" is forbidden in Switzerland. It's population decided in a democratic way.
For me it's an expression of fear and ignorance toward the muslim believers.
On the other hand muslim must clear up themselves a lot more in the west. if they want to be understood and accepted. And we must support them doing that.
As for the situation in Switzerland two questions I ask:
-does a local democratic decision override human right?
-how about the definiton of a Minaret? stairs? platform on the top?
I took this picture in Selimiye Mosque of Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, the day when people met for the feast of sacrifice (Eid al-Adha).
Made for this month's challenge. I kind of combined both theme's of "hello" and "friend" into this card. I used pool layering paper (mid color) and stamped the friendship definiton using Versamark- then stamped in again in black & white. Finally inked up the stamp & die cuts here too! Love this matching set of stamps & dies :) Sentiment is from a small clear set CL414
The old JC Penny store is but a memory now. In fact only the rear wall remains. The roof caved in decades ago and an empty lot remains with the walls of two other buildings to give depth and definiton. People used to flock to Greenville from miles around the farm belt on a Saturday afternoon to shop but now it is Walmart 2-1/2 miles south of town on the Interstate Highway.

I honestly ADORE the size (17'') of this line! I also Love how well the body is made and the definiton of the sculpts. If they were to extend this line I'd love to see a Venus in this size......O_O imagine how cool a Wydowna would be this large!
I got the idea from MissTorRee. She had a funny comment on my first definiton and I figured I might as well follow what she said. Unfortunately the grain is pretty prominent because of the high ISO, and my handwriting failed me on the last word, but I had to follow what I was writing on that mirror, and I still like the picture. :)
Also, I've been wanting to start on a 52 weeks project, but I want to start epically (word?). I can't just start on some random day, so when do I start? My birthday is too far away :( Suggestions?

Dieses “besondere” Geschöpf habe ich vor einiger Zeit im Frankfurter Zoo entdeckt.
Er stand minutenlang hinter seiner Scheibe auf einer Ebene mit mir still und bot sich so prima als Fotomotiv. Und das selbst bei ziemlicher Dunkelheit. Die Belichtung betrug 1/20s bei Blende 5.6 und ISO 400. Das ganze bei 200mm und natürlich MIT Stativ
Nachträglich habe ich noch etwas an der “Definiton” (auch als “Klarheit”) bekannt gedreht um die Detials noch etwas weiter hervorzuheben. Ich muss allerdings eine generelle Warnung vor “Definiton” bzw. “Klarheit” aussprechen! Es ist DES TEUFELS! Man macht damit in 95% der Bilder mehr kaputt als Gut.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry I haven't visited your photo streams this week... But its been one of those crazy week. The First Part of the week, I had the flu, and couldn't get out of bed, Today; I had my eyes dilated (routine yearly checkup), and I can see hardly anything, so I'm blind typing here, in fact I had to rely on the auto focus of my camera, so I'm not even sure its in focus. So please excuse any typos you see here today. But I saw this as I came home from the doctors office (no I didn't drive home) and I'm sure I looked crazy trying to take a picture with sunglasses on, as my eyes were so blasted sensitive to the light. We had rain all morning, but it was clearing as the next wave was approaching and I had to get this shot!

So I guess I got inspiration for this little mini video from Alex Cottrill's recent flickr video upload and I thought I would try doing video properly on my D90, but the mist and low light outside has sorta made it grainy :(, I may revisited this project if the snow stays around
