Take a moment to breathe, listen to the wind, and let nature work its magic. 🍂🌿

When the sun turns into a star between the branches, you know you’re witnessing a kind of magic money can’t buy. 💫

i guess this is one of those days where i need to post my pictures kind of early, because im afraid the thoughts will leave my head before i have a chance to catch them.

there's a 50 mph wind knocking on my window, "can jake come out to play?". this morning the leaves where drowning my car but i saved it with a towel and a click of my windshield wipers. there's that faint nip of cold on the breath of that quick wind like whiskey on a sailor and now it is most definitely sweatshirt season.

i went to the doctors today, because with all this change going on i decided to finally cut something out of my life thats been holding me back since i can remember, acne. i'll be on Accutane for about the next six months, hopefully ending this forever. i need to get a ton of blood work done and all that good stuff plus there are a ton of side effects but at this point, i'll do anything.

almost every single picture that doesn't have my face in it is because my skin that day wouldn't allow me one. well thats over skin, burn in hell.

deepbreath. headup.

goodnight and God bless.

Macro Mondays- My Daily Tea

I try to drink a cup of tea daily while I snuggle on the couch with big soft blankets. It is my relaxing time. I follow with deep breathing exercises.

Deep breath, almost time

A lot of light is not "good" light. Nikon D750 with 24-70 f.2.8 lens and underexposed for highlights.

There is a moment.

Quiet, brief, yet heavy.

The body stands at the edge, but the mind lingers.

A pause, where the heart grips the comfort of what is known, unwilling to let go.

Behind is the land, the safety of what has always been.

Ahead lies the unknown, vast, cold, calling.

The frozen lake stretches like an unanswered question.

To take that first step is not only to move the body but to confront the weight of leaving behind the familiar.

It is the final breath before the leap.

It is the ache of knowing that once you cross, there is no turning back.

And still, the feet remain planted for one more second.

“The real man smiles in trouble,

gathers strength from distress,

and grows brave by reflection.”

~Thomas Paine~

Greetings from Toronto.

Once again, the Festive Season is upon us, the perfect opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and Wonderful Holiday Celebrations with family and friends.

Enjoy!

Just had to share this. We went out Christmas shopping, well actually, Christmas window shopping, to get some ideas, I can never decide and always leave my buying to the last minute. But once my mind is made up, I’m rarin’ to go, I become a total shopaholic for a day. I look at it as an adventure, as I do most things in life.

I usually wait for the first big snow storm to hit the big smoke when the malls are empty, stores are empty, sales people bored to death just waiting for someone to walk through the door. I have had some of the best customer service experiences and met some of the nicest, most interesting people along the way. It has become a ritual for me to get it all done in one outing.

Ok ok, enough about me, back to the picture. We took a break from the maddening crowd and stopped for a Timmies, that’s Tim Hortons for those who are not familiar with one of our Canadian coffee traditions and addictions.

On our way out, there she was, decked out in her Santa hat, strutting along. Fabulous, what a find, time to pull out my toy, simply can’t miss this. I was lucky to get a few snaps but thought this one was most appropriate. A deep breath, a last moment of peace before entering the Arena.

Happy Holidays, best wishes always. Thanks for your visits throughout the year.

This sculpture by Matt Bellefeuille was installed in Union Park in 2014.

oh last week was a doozie. thankfully i don't have to repeat it.

I wanted to be your all

But I dont even feel human

Am surely not a supergirl

Just powerless

Respect your body, take care of your health, dont take yourself for granted...there is no life without health...so dont be powerless, treat yourself well!

Wishing you all great health and peace of mind always.

on our way to get bird seed and a new shovel (*does a snow dance*) at the home depot yesterday (after lunch at the maya cafe), i saw these light poles in an abandoned adjacent parking lot and squealed, "look at that rust!"

as florian swerved over towards them, i said, "nah, don't bother, they're impossible to shoot." then i told him to go back.

nothing's impossible.

for a dear friend who's caught in the darkness.

Digging up travel photos. You'll find this place a few hours trek from McLeod Ganj of Dharamshala, HP, India.
