Jaspyr climbed up onto the roof of one of the old byres…Here, he is trying to work out how to get back down. Safely.
Years ago, when he was just a kitten, this big eejit found himself on the very apex of one of the byre roofs. He proceeded to slide straight down, with his front feet splayed, like snowploughing skis, in a foiled attempt to halt his downward plummet. He (and I) got a real fright. Fortunately, he was perfectly fine, if a little shaken and hiding under my bed. Very rare to see him on any of the roofs…

A California Scrub Jay deciding what he would like to eat for breakfast! He chose the Sunflower Hearts & Chips bird seed. It is fun to watch him pick through the seed and pick the tastiest morsels!
A pair of Mallard Ducks wander in a nearby forest under the forever watchful eye of Orion.
Orion was solid to 'point' for about 10 minutes without moving a muscle as I maneuvered around to get the shot. Not unusual, as that's just the way he is...

Without light it is difficult to return even knowing every turn of the road. Without light it is easy to make a mistake at the intersections and get lost in a maze of decisions. Without light, painful wounds lurk behind each misstep. Without light, the eyes and reason believe what they need to believe. Without light all the senses lazily awaken. Without light, you cannot distinguish shortcuts or signs.
It is possible not to need the light, if you have never been lost.
So, I was watching this video on You Tube and the guy said he didn't put his images in Lightroom by there date because he can't remember which photos he took when. So he puts them in categories, like architecture or people. Made sense to me. I was taught to do dates but categories works so much better. I spent a couple of days redoing my Lightroom. The only time it'll be a problem is when I add photos.

I have been fascinated by street photography for a long time, but don't find it easy. There are some exceptional street photographers on Flickr that I admire greatly - you know who you are. But I thought I'd try my hand at it. Hopefully, after the vaccine, I will feel free to wander the streets of downtown Vancouver again. This one was taken near the Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver.

The white dress is *perfect* for Jan's wedding next week, but the pink dress is exactly what I need for Skip's garden party! I can only buy one...what to do, what to do...

Yesterday I took my old camera and old lens to wander around in the rain. The maple trees that were here grow tall and too close to the house. But for now we won’t have to make a decision.
Shooting in RAW allows for a lot of mistakes. Mostly, however, this is about as shot.
And he told me that I was free, that I could go flying with the others, but I looked into his eyes and decided to stay with him
....
Y me dijo que yo era libre, que podía ir a volar con los demás, pero lo miré a los ojos y decidí quedarme a su lado

A couple of images of birds I don't see all that often. These two were seen at the Garden of St Erth three years ago.
Our friendly garden robin came and took his food then spied a tastier morsel!
Thanks for viewing, favs and comments, much appreciated ❤️
White-faced Heron (Egretta novaehollandiae)
From Sneydes Rd. on this day four years ago. It landed on this branch and seemed to be pondering where it should go next. It left shortly after this shot was taken.
Which to feed? The bushtit hoard descended late yesterday afternoon, and had plenty of youngsters in it (were they there to show off their newest members?). Here, I was lucky to get mom with two hungry "teens" vying for her attention. Which did she feed? Neither - shortly after this she flew away and left them wondering "where did she go?" Too funny!
Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!
