You won't see a photo of the Eagle we were watching but he was in the pines to the left of this photo in the top!
We heard him circling above as he/she squeaked out their call. Charlie knows he is bite sized for birds of prey and ran to hide under my legs.
We retreated to another pine and simply watched for about 20 minutes. I held Charlie in my lap and we listened the the Eagle chirp and chatter.
Eventually the Eagle took off. Its wings made a thumping noise on take off and then we watched it soar over the river and head north out of our area.
In 1970, seeing a Bald Eagle was a rarity it was estimated that only about 400 breeding pairs were left in the US.
I was starting High School at that time.
Today I sat and watched one in the pines above us or 20 minutes.
Just.

It's the 1st of December, so I'm guessing it's safe to mention the "C" word now then lol, although some people have had their decorations up since early November, I'm not one of them lol...Bah Humbug.:)

I'm standing in my driveway at the sidewalk looking South toward the train tracks. Wow, this made #3 in Explore.
My sister's 2nd grade class, made this cute little tree for the assisted living home, across the road, where the school is .. her class goes there every Thursday, and reads to the residents .. They have come to love the children, and the children have really grown to love them ...
Thursdays are a big deal for all ( both residents and children )
The Tree is mostly made out of things, that are home made by the students .. those big round things hanging on there, are paper plates, with their hand prints , and most of the ornaments are home made...... December 14th, the home is having a Christmas party, for the children, and the residents ..
These children, will give away the things, they have made to the residents .. as the residents, will be having the children a party .. ( It is an all the way around, loving gesture ) People need to show much kindness!

this was from today! Can you believe the first of December in Oklahoma this rose and many others still line the beds on the streets in Broken Arrow Oklahoma giving color to the Rose District downtown shopping.
After watching the turning on of Beccles Christmas Lights and wondering around Beccles Christmas Market we all feel very seasonal. We are spending Christmas in Jersey, Channel Islands with the whole family so we decided to "Deck the halls!" on December the first this year, with a roaring fire and a glistening tree tonight we will have a glass of something lovely and dress the tree together with Carols from Kings filling the house with sweet music.........

Now it's the sunny start of December!! This amateurs' photograph has paid itself for good! Its spherical sun has matched no other as it's the only real photograph you see in the combination of perfect colors and its shape.

This photo of the Brighton Clock Tower features as the main December image in the Brighton and Hove Calendar 2013. A huge print is also hanging in the foyer at Juice 107.2. I took this on December 1st 2010, when heavy blizzards coincided with Christmas lighting, a rare event in southern England.
Three other images of starlings are included in November. I will display those below.
The Brighton and Hove Calendar 2013 is available to purchase at stalls in Churchill Square and Kensington Gardens and online. I'm not sure about the price. A4 prints of my images are available to buy. Nigel Swallow, who runs North Laine Photography, tells me that prints can sell in high volume over Christmas. I'm hoping in vain to raise enough cash to buy a used copy of the Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM! To save me from tears, please buy many prints.

A Little Snowman.
I had an idea this month to take a picture every day of something that I have that is Festive.. the last 3-4 years have been really hard with some real life things that happened and this year I just want to Mindlessly Enjoy the Holidays like Im 5 years old again.
So today on December 1st Enjoy my Snowman that I got from a Bethany Lowe site a year or two ago :)
