De Pijp metro station (Dutch: Station De Pijp) is a station on the Route 52 (North–South Line) of the Amsterdam Metro in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was opened on 22 July 2018. Prior to March 2012, this station was known as the Ceintuurbaan. De Pijp is an underground station situated in the Oude Pijp neighbourhood of the borough of Amsterdam-Zuid (Amsterdam South).
The station, designed by Benthem Crouwel Architects, is situated beneath the Ferdinand Bolstraat in the De Pijp neighbourhood. Because of the narrow constraints of the site location, between the foundations of adjoining buildings, the station has two levels, with a platform on each level. Each platform is 125 metres long and 5.3 metres wide (3 meters at its narrowest points). There are ten escalators (five per platform) as well as lifts to the mezzanine level. The lower level platform with southbound services to Zuid is 26.5 meters below street level, while the upper level platform with northbound services to Noord is 16.5 meters below street level. This makes De Pijp station the deepest station on the Noord/Zuidlijn and the deepest metro station in the Netherlands.
In May 2013, a municipal advisory committee selected artwork by Argentinian artist Amalia Pica for this station. It is a multicolored painting that will run the entire span of the wall of the mezzanine level.
The station has two entrances, one at Albert Cuypstraat and Ferdinand Bolstraat and one at Ceintuurbaan and Ferdinand Bolstraat. The existing corner buildings at each station entrance location had been demolished. The first designs for the new residential buildings were presented in April 2014.
On the right side of the door was the window of a car dealer and he expected to see in this window some more cars... :-)

Amsterdam - Gerard Doustraat / Quellijnstraat.
"De Punt" (the point) is the nickname of this corner building.
De Punt is de bijnaam van een hoekpand gelegen aan de Gerard Doustraat en Quellijnstraat. De bijnaam dankt het aan het feit dat de straten elkaar in een scherpe hoek kruisen. Dat werd veroorzaakt door het feit dat tijdens de inrichting er bij de planning van De Pijp gebruikgemaakt moest worden van twee inrichtingen.
De Tweede Punt: De kruising Gerard Doustraat en Tweede Jacob van Campenstraat laat eenzelfde puntconstructie zien, maar is geen monument (Wp).

Amsterdam - Albert Cuypstraat.
Voormalige hulpwacht van de brandweer (1889-1897), opvolger van de post in de Ferdinand Bolstraat (vandaar de roepletter F). Er was ruimte voor een brandspuit en voor de stalling van een paard dat de spuit moest trekken. De manschappen sliepen waarschijnlijk op de verdieping.
Destijds was de Albert Cuypstraat nog grotendeels een ongedempte sloot. De Zaagmolensloot kwam tot aan de linkermuur van het gebouwtje (amsterdamopdekaart.nl).
Na vertrek van de brandweer kwam er een gemeentelijk klachtenbureau in, vervolgens een administratief punt voor de Stadsreiniging. In 2015 stond het gebouwtje enige tijd te huur als opslag, winkel of horeca. De originele deuren werden als verkoopargument gebruikt (Wikipedia).

De boksschool aan de Albert Cuypstraat werd in 1967 geopend in het gebouw van de Vereniging tot Bescherming van het Schoolkind.

Amsterdam - Tweede van der Helst straat.
Two residential blocks, built in 1919 by architects Gulden en Geldmaker, in the Amsterdam School style of architecture.
Woningbouwvereniging Amsterdam-Zuid liet het bureau Gulden & Geldmaker in 1919 twee blokken met 270 woningen en 4 winkels ontwerpen op een terrein tussen Lutmastraat en Amstelkanaal. Dit is het noordelijke blok.
De meeste Amsterdamse School-invloeden – en daarmee de sierlijkste elementen van de blokken – vinden we op de begane grond. Bij enkele portieken en deurpartijen is de donkere steen van de plint in een hoge punt gemetseld. In de gevel hierboven zitten puntige trappenhuisraampjes (020apps.nl, Wendingen).
Gerard Reve relativeerde zijn beroemdheid in 1982 als volgt: "Na mijn dood word ik op de scholen tien jaar vrijwillig gelezen en daarna nog eens tien jaar verplicht. Dan noemen ze een straat naar me. En dan ben ik helemaal vergeten. Niemand weet toch meer wie Tweede van der Helst was?".

The "Huis met de Kabouters" is a 19th-century building, so named because the facade is decorated with two figures of gnomes.
The richly ornate building dates to 1884. It was designed by A.C. Boerma in a mix of architectural styles.
The facade is decorated with a variety of ornaments, including gnomes, putti and eagles (Wikipedia).
A B&W at sunset by the Van Gogh Museum and Rijkmuseum in the Museum District of Amsterdam. I decided to horizontally flip this photo after posting it. This is the replacement.
