I spotted this blue jay singing and enjoying the sunrise right before a hike. I heard his beautiful singing and it was very soothing. He really seems to be having a fabulous morning! :)

I really like these shots but hadn't managed to get one until today. Late entry for the "faceless portrait" theme perhaps.
Today, 1/6, is National Shortbread Day. And i was actually going to bake some, but the day got away from me.

Tried a macro version of this for Macro Monday but didn't love it so no submission this week to the pool but I played along in spirit. Happy Monday!

today was my little brother's 12th birthday.
man, im getting old.
hung out with a cool kid and had some great times (:
rough times dont call for rough measures by the way. even though things are thrown in our way to dash the things we lay down before ourselves doesn't mean we can't battle back.
and how do we do this?
love people. and a whole lot of it.
you, reading this, i love you. (:
goodnight and God bless.
p.s. go read a David Sedaris book. nownownow.
I took one or two of these shots, very hard to decide which one to go with. I've got rays of light, big daisies, and the dog... sorted!
This week has been lovely, but next time I have a week off I might make myself a smidge more incognito.
Tomorrow is reserved for me. On my own. Doing. NOTHING.

I can’t tell you how comfortable this was. I seriously could’ve slept there. Or I could have until I started rolling the turf back up and noticed little worms in the soil :| Im glad I put a sheet between me and the grass now. I never realized grass was so heavy.
I didn’t think this idea was going to work yesterday, I was very pessimistic about it (probably because yesterdays image was - in my eyes - a bit of a fail) and almost didn’t bother getting the turf. Im glad I did though cause I like it. I was going to shoot some more when it was actually dark but it hasn’t stopped raining since about 7 so I never got the chance. Glad I took them earlier now.
I feel pretty inspired now. I don’t have any ideas to channel it into, but thats ok. I haven’t felt that inspired for a while so its good that I do now.
I should really sleep now. I got to be up in 5 hours for work :( I dislike customers, a lot.

Just a quick iPhone shot of the crazy weather in London. One minute it was sunny, the next pouring with rain and then sunny again.
PS. Sorted out my date problem in Lightroom. Adobe Bridge had somehow changed the format - thanks for the tips!

I am not sure Steven would be too happy that I've taken my title and 'inspiration' from him for this effort. Usually, good 'ol Slackpacket will present a lovely shot and say give it a description like this. I however, have taken his descriptive style literally and have a taken a photo of grass and stuff. And nothing more.
I was beginning to regret ordering the chef's signature dish.

Beautiful sunlight casting across the fields with the poppy rising above the crop to face the last light of the day.
Deerfield Bakery: The petite desserts from the Deerfield bakery are just awesome. The Tiramisu and Strawberry dipped in white chocolate are my favorites.
"Maple syrup is often used as a condiment for pancakes, waffles, French toast, oatmeal, or porridge" (Wikipedia). Or, drizzle a little maple syrup over a bowl of vanilla ice cream for a sweet treat.

I missed most of the bright sunshine today stuck in the hairdressers...oh well at least it didn't rain on me this time (it normally does when i go!!) I managed to get this shot just before the rain lashed it down again....
of course, when odin is visiting his finnish relatives in the upper penninsula of michigan, we're obligated to have odin wear his sisu shirt at least once, since sisu is a finnish word that means "stamina, perserverance, courage, and determination held in reserve for hard times".
at one point during the day odin enjoys having a very emotive "conversation" with his great aunt dolly.
he starts by wildly gesticulating about something that is obviously quite important and continues with a series of expressions make it hard not to imagine that he's having a grand time expressing himself.
