A photo trip to Fes is not complete without a shot of the iconic tanneries. The place is truly amazing, having not changed for centuries. Several more in the comments.

133/365: 2015
We spotted this black racer snake today, although we felt pretty sure it was harmless, I was still a bit nervous about getting too close. Having searched online, they are harmless, adults are generally about 2-4 feet but can grow up to 6 feet. This one was about two and a half feet long.
Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are northern and eastern birds, but they occasionally show up in West Texas.
For my ongoing bird-a-day project for 2017. Thanks all!

Moving ant with hairy bottom in the left hand, not the steadiest Nikon in the right (fuzzy focus) - - what is that in its mouth?
it's all in your mind.

Rainbow In My World Today
by - Casarah Nance www.poetrysoup.com/poems_poets/poems_by_poet.aspx?ID=47419
There is a rainbow in my world today,
With every word your write my way.
Colors of emotions flow in harmony,
as they spread across the sky in unity.
Wrap me in your red, orange and blue,
fill me with the violet passion of you.
You make the sky shine after that rain,
softly your soul pushes away the pain.
In every luxurious line that you say,
you are the rainbow in my world today.

We decided we didn't like our "by the tree" pics this year, so we packed up and headed to the Boise Depot for the family pic.
It was overcast, so I'm not thrilled with the lighting in any of them that we took. This is a great place for a sitting though.
your not alone at all.

I wasn't happy with anything I shot on Day 133; this was the least embarrassing of them all. It's a 1 second exposure with the Fish Eye Lens but I think I was nearer to him than the picture indicates - I had to be within touching distance.
The title is borrowed from a Heroes Episode.
For the FGR daily group, The Seven Deadly Sins - and because it's a Monday and it's been raining all day, so this is how I feel!
Reverted to the fiddy in order to fill a frame -despite my aversion to seeing my face in such large-scale detail...
On the plus side, I'm feeling bloody great now that I've got over my coffee withdrawal - my energy levels seem to be rising daily, which is wonderful (cos I've got so much to do this year!!) ! :)

Over at photographywired.com/ today Stu is taking a look at some of the latest digital compacts announced at last week's International CES show in Vegas - including a camera that won't take a picture until you smile at it...

Mohoua albicilla, pōpokotea
The Whitehead is endemic to New Zealand and restricted to the North Island and some outlying islands. This was the first time I have knowingly seen (or photographed) one.

If this doesn't make you happy then there is something wrong with you.
I wish It could be permanent.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I've promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep...

This is the Auditorium of Karolinska Institutet that is being built now.
I was out looking for something for "Our Daily Challenge" that today has the theme "Blue". Well, there is the blue sky and I was hoping to get some reflections of it but this amazing fasade does not really work that well for reflection.
