This cabin is part of the Oconaluftee Mountain Farm Museum. It is located near Cherokee, North Carolina. Our family always stops in and visits this beautiful farm to take a walk back in time. Along with the Davis home there are historic buildings located on the grounds including a meat house, chicken house, apple house, corn crib, gear shed, barn, blacksmith shop and springhouse. ...We always look forward to seeing it!

Undoubtedly one of his greatest artistic endeavors even though a pope has to basically coerce him to take on the project, the paintings on Sistine Chapel Ceiling in the Vatican have been masterfully reproduced by using licensed high definition photography and then a specialized printing technique that emulates the look and feel of the original painting. Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition a traveling exhibition that allows one to see Michelangelo’s masterpieces up close and on Sunday my west coast damsel and I went to the Northern California exhibition at Davis on the grounds of U C Davis. Amazing the detail and accuracy of each biblical character definitely recommended for anyone who like me hasn’t been to the Vatican or the Sistine Chapel, plus this got us closer than one would ever get in Rome. The reluctant painter considered himself a master sculptor, but the Pope at the time needed the chapel to be finished under his watch, so Michelangelo would have to address the Sistine Chapel before he could sculpt the Pope’s tomb which he had already been commissioned. Fourteen structures have been damaged by the Davis Fire and additional assessment will be done when it is safe to do, the U.S. Forest Service said Sunday night.
The 6,500-acre fire is burning in heavy timber and brush. Gusty winds are expected for the rest of the week. There is zero containment.
The southern end of the western side of the fire grew the most in Sunday’s winds, moving along the Mount Rose Highway. Crews mostly held the other fronts of the fire.
Most highways have reopened, although U.S. 395 is closed in Washoe Valley.
About 12,000 to 14,000 people are under evacuation orders in south Reno. The number of customers without power in Washoe County on Sunday night was 4,453. At its peak, about 17,000 customers were without power.

Taken during a bike ride in the Rideau Lakes area. This is Davis lock, which is known as a “solitude lock,” one of the most remote locks on the Rideau. Part of its remoteness is due to the fact that it's on a dead-end road. It's named after Walter Davis Jr. who built a sawmill here in about 1818.

Where it all started...I had a chance to visit family in the Boston area.......While I was there, it was as hot as it had been in the Tampa area......I spent an hour in Davis Square.....he was the only person I shot while in the Boston area.....he was sitting on the sidewalk with his cardboard sign........he told me his name is Mark......I asked and he allowed me to photograph him.....thank you, Mark ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏

A candid snapped before the start of the 12 Marias procession at Venice Carnival 2019. This reenactor was chatting with her friend, I waited a bit for her to look aside and snap her face vis-a-vis. She definitely has a resemblance with the actress Geena Davis (and a bit of Cristiano Ronaldo as well).
