Dr. Sangin, the minister of Communications and Information Technology, addresses attendees of a two-day ISAF communications and technology conference in Kabul, March 30. Sangin joined Gen. David Petraeus, commander of ISAF and U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Lt. Gen. David Rodriguez, ISAF Joint Command commander, and the other distinguished visitors, including representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Defense, who discussed past, present and future information and technology sharing ventures to help push Afghanistan's development and security beyond the transition period. The two most common themes among the speakers were the fact that coalition and Afghan forces are working shoulder to shoulder and that all gains should be sustainable after coalition forces leave.
