Here's where I cut my teeth on the setup of a website's hardware. The former Exodus corporate site was running on two load-balanced e450 servers, an A1000 RAID drive, a Dell system running Red Hat and a Windows server for e-marketing software. I spent WAY too many hours standing in this tiny cage configuring servers and networking gear. Ear plugs and a coat required.

...my site is going down for some time, for some maintenance (for the first time in two years!)
i'll be plugging in some fresh hardware in my old server, after that i can (on another day) put server number two along...
i think i have plenty of time there (waiting for raid sets to rebuild and such) to geek around... i'm not sure if i can manage it, but i'll try to have some uptime even when the server is down ;-)

My server had a little planned downtime, my server had to move to another rack and in the meantime I could swap some memory-modules...
