I bless the day I found you

I want to stay around you

And so I beg you, let it be me

Don't take this heaven from one

If you must cling to someone

Now and forever, let it be me

Each time we meet love

I find complete love

Without your sweet love what would life be

So never leave me lonely

Tell me you love me only

And that you'll always let it be me

Each time we meet love

I find complete love

Without your sweet love what would life be

So never leave me lonely

Tell me you love me only

And that you'll always---let--it be--me

Sud SE-210 Caravelle VI-R

Transavia Holland

Going by images I found on the web, PH-TRY wore this initial Transavia livery only for about one year starting from May 1970. A photo I found in this great thread on North West Air News shows the aircraft at Riem on 25 July 1970 in the same colours as here:

derbosoft.proboards.com/post/92279/thread

PH-TRY was later noted at Riem on 25 September 1972 and 21 March 1973. The Caravelle stayed with Transavia until 1976, so there may have been more visits to Riem.

Delivered new to United Air Lines as N1002 in June 1961 as their second Caravelle. To Transavia as PH-TRY in May 1970. To Independent Air as N777VV in July 1976 (operating for Atlanta Skylarks). Stored at Tucson from ca. 1981 after being used by a string of other operators and finally broken up in 2010. (Sources: rzjets.net, flickr)

looking it up, I learned amazing facts about lichens..

excerpt from the following link:

"One of the ways lichens directly benefit humans is through their ability to absorb everything in their atmosphere, especially pollutants. Lichens can provide us with valuable information about the environment around us. Any heavy metals or carbon or sulfur or other pollutants in the atmosphere are absorbed into the lichen thallus. Scientists can extract these toxins and determine the levels that are present in our atmosphere. The United States Forest Service National Lichens & Air Quality Database and Clearinghouse provides more information about lichen biomonitoring and how it is helping federal land managers meet federal and agency responsibilities to detect, map, evaluate trends, and assess the ecological impacts of air pollutants. Space Police central database access granted.

Connecting to Sol Precinct… connected.

Processing your query now… done. One match found for "Jovian Fleet".

----

The Jovian Fleet is a criminal syndicate organized under the leadership of former Space Police Officer Nigel MacGruder, who escaped custody and went into hiding after his smuggling activities were discovered. MacGruder has since assembled a sizable fleet of vessels and has been making a growing nuisance of himself, preying on commercial traffic between Earth and the asteroid belts and using his extensive knowledge of Space Police procedures and tactics to rebuild his smuggling empire.

The word "Jovian" doesn't mean the fleet is friendly, it's a reference to their chosen territory in the area of Sol 5 and 6, the planets Jupiter and Saturn. The massive size of these worlds combined with their turbulent atmospheres offers the Jovian Fleet an effectively unlimited number of hiding places, as their ships have been retrofitted with reinforced hulls and integrity fields that allow them to dive deep enough into the atmospheres of the Jovian worlds to escape detection.

Despite an obsession with ornate accommodations and ostentatious trappings, MacGruder is a hard man and a dangerous enemy. We have been attempting to infiltrate his organiztion for some time, and while we've succeeded in inserting a few personnel, they have all met brutal ends at the hands of MacGruder's elite personal strike force, a group of hand-picked operatives he calls the Blood Wardens. This surveillance still from MacGruder's flagship became infamous after he leaked it to the public networks, intended as an object lesson to any would-be informants or traitors. The two men lying dead on the floor were our best source of inside information at the time, and the message sent by their executions was heard loud and clear throughout the criminal underground.

The trigger man was MacGruder's second in command Nathan Wulf, seen standing to the right with the flechette pistol. We don't have names for the two Wardens behind him, but the woman standing by the window with the scoped energy weapon we know only as Aegis, a former freelance sniper who joined MacGruder's fleet several years ago.

Also shown are several of MacGruder's line troops, armed with Jovian Fleet Service Rifles and wearing the distinctive transparent shield visors seen on so many boarding actions. We don't know what MacGruder calls the two men in the back corners of the room, but from their ceremonial garb and unique weapons we suspect they're some sort of personal guard. The woman kneeling at his right is likely a mistress of some kind; MacGruder is not known to keep or deal in slaves.

Exercise extreme caution when patrolling within the Jovian orbits. MacGruder's fleet is not above attacking lone Space Police vessels if he thinks he has the advantage.

Irises, 1890

Oil on canvas

By Vincent van Gogh

Dutch, 1853-1890

Accession #: 58.187

Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, New York)—August 28, 2010

Upon his arrival at the asylum in Saint-Rémy in May 1890, Van Gogh painted views of the institution's overgrown garden. He ignored still-life subjects during his yearlong hospital stay, but before leaving the artist brought his work in Saint-Rémy full circle with four lush bouquets of spring flowers: two of roses and two of irises, in contrasting formats and color harmonies. Van Gogh noted that in the "two canvases representing big bunches of violet irises," he placed "one lot against a pink background" and the other "against a startling citron yellow background" to exploit the play of "disparate complementaries." Owing to the use of a fugitive red pigment, the "soft and harmonious" effect that he had sought in the Metropolitan's painting through the "combination of greens, pinks, violets" has been altered by the fading of the once pink background to almost white. Another still life from the series, an upright composition of roses, is on view in the adjacent gallery. Both were owned by the artist's mother, who kept them until her death in 1907.

In Greek mythology, Lycaon was a king of Arcadia who, in the most popular version of the myth, tested Zeus' omniscience by serving him the roasted flesh of Lycaon's own son Nyctimus, in order to see whether Zeus was truly all-knowing.

In return for these gruesome deeds, Zeus transformed Lycaon into a wolf and killed his offspring; Nyctimus was restored to life.

Despite being notorious for his horrific deeds, Lycaon was also remembered as a culture hero: he was believed to have founded the city Lycosura, to have established a cult of Zeus Lycaeus and to have started the tradition of the Lycaean Games, which Pausanias thinks were older than the Panathenaic Games.
