To commemorate its 100th anniversary, IBM commissioned a unique public exhibition called THINK. The exhibition is an examination and a celebration of the human approach to understanding and improving the world through science and technology.
Upon entering the exhibition, visitors pass an LED wall showing live data feeds in vivid color. Once inside, visitors encounter a glowing forest of screens. A breathtaking film charts man’s patterns of progress and understanding. Sosolimited programmed the five interactives that appear on the screens at the end of the film. These interactives explore the history of our progress through Seeing, Mapping, Understanding, Believing, and Acting.
The interactives are visually striking and intuitive, providing visitors with an expansive collection of images, stories, and interviews. These multitouch software applications were designed to seamlessly display large collections of data at high frame rates. We developed the software with OpenFrameworks libraries.
The project was a collaboration between SYPartners, Ralph Applebaum & Associates, George P Johnson, Mirada, and Sosolimited. Photos and video shot by Chris Teague.

Developed for GE's Healthymagination data visualization forum, we take a realtime look at the discussions happening on Twitter around the topic of breast cancer. Tweets from all over the world are aggregated in a single location, allowing visitors to quickly understand the current topics, trends, and stories.
Visitors can sort the tweets to reveal the top five most popular topics appearing in the last 1,500 tweets. Within each topic is listed the three most commonly used words. Through this sorting, visitors can easily get an understanding of the major discussion threads, as well as explore each related tweet in detail.
In addition to sorting tweets by topics, visitors can explore the most common news stories referenced in the tweets, explore the individuals who are tweeting the most, or log into Twitter directly and add to the discussion.

Anaptár 2010 is an experimental calendar for the year 2010
he calendar is based on a radial system and incorporates sun and moon data in addition to the common days, weeks and months.
The overall aesthetic is reduced to the essence – the simple typography and the clear shapes work really well together. The minimalistic visual style makes it both easy to read and delightful to look at. Beside different shades of gray, certain areas are subtly color coded to highlight important dates. I must admit, that I am a big fan of this delicately designed piece of information visualization.
I've been to SXSW for 5 years (and attended in spirit via the interwebs for a couple of years more).
The Sprinklr VIP penthouse party this past Sunday was definitely one of the highlights of my overall SXSW experience.
Great people, great food, great conversations. It was a great night.
It was especially rewarding to see the Command Center + data viz solution we've been working on for quite some time rendering beautifully on every screen within our awesome new office in Austin TX.
Hope everyone had a great time and that we see you there again next year!
ps. Thanks for the photos Kris Krüg.
