Three mosaic illustrations from my book, including this one, are in a group exhibition that just opened entitled The Night Before Christmas: Illustrations from 21st Century Editions of the Poem! They are a part of "fifteen of the most non-traditional and exciting 21st century published versions of the illustrated poem by award-winning artists from abroad and the United States.” I’m honored to be included with such amazing illustrators as Lisbeth Zwerger and Richard Jesse Watson among others. The exhibition is at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach, Florida and runs until February 24, 2019. I’m told our exhibit is located right next to the Kathryn Hepburn costume exhibit, how fun! I’m waiting on some photos and will post when I receive them. If you live in the area, let me know if you go!

Dash gets on the roof and sometimes "forgets" where to get down. He wants me to help. He seems to do it on purpose.

Shooting Odanata with a macro lens sucks...I seriously need to get a different lens.

I'll take photos of a Blue Dasher Dragonfly anytime I can - which in May through August is "any time" - but especially when one perches on a stalk of Horsetail Grass. Today, I was really in luck. My knees could bend and I was at eye-level.

Female Blue Dasher.

Blue dashers are by far the most numerous dragonflies in local ponds. Even though they do not have the bright blue color I think that the markings on the females are very beautiful. For comparison a photograph of a male is in the comment box.

This plump little reindeer has sipped one too many Frappucinos this year, and, as a result, he cannot assist Santa with this year's deliveries to good children. He's looking to retire south of the North Pole with someone who will love all his roly-poly cuteness.

Cycling is a part of life in this city. As this ghostly cyclist rode past, you can see their approach with the front light (right) and the reveal of the back light (left).

I've wanted to make this image for a long time, and planned my return at the very end of day, when you get the last of the light. The plan was for the artificial street lighting to take centre stage; watching over the passers by below. As the cyclists passed by, I was able to play with various shutter speeds, finally settling with this 25 second exposure at f|13. The result, an urban scene with three different light sources; one static street light, as if an artificial star, one relatively slowly moving in the sun, and one passing through the image completely being the cyclist.

The Slinky Dog Dash is a roller coaster in the Toy Story Land at Disney Hollywood Studios Park at Disney World in Orlando. I really liked all of the bright primary colors in the Toy Story area.
