Full disclosure: I had no idea this was James Randi when I took the photo. The man is an IDOL of mine. I was just taking street photos and these two looked dapper. My friend later texted me and was in shock! I’ve seen “An Honest Liar” a thousand times and I didn’t even know this was James in person. How embarrassing. Regardless, it’s a great street photo. I hope everyone enjoys it.

Good morning everyone. As mentioned yesterday, posted today is a series on the male Common Whitetail (Plathemis lydia) or Long-tailed Skimmer as it's also known. The Common Whitetail, is a common dragonfly across much of North America coast to coast , and is usually one of the first dragonflies to emerge each spring. The male has a striking and unusual appearance. It's white body, about 2 inches (5 cm) long, combined with the brownish-black bands on its otherwise translucent wings, gives it a checkered look and makes it one of the easiest dragonflies to identify while in flight.
I also included in the comment section a photo of an immature male and female for comparison purposes.

I have lots of catching up to do. . .
Smokey lived for 16 years. He was a puggle. Over the years, he would dress up in any costume possible. He loved photo shoots. When he passed I painted this ceramic dog to resemble. We dress him up at Christmas as Santa Dog! After doing this dapper picture, I think we need to make him a dapper costume!
For October , Dapper Death stopped by and said he would hang out till All Hallows Eve ! Happy for the house guest :D
