Meet: Brian. My mate, and fellow-wedding-photographer extraordinaire... When he isn't propping an umbrella up, he has a tight grip on a Nikon D3; he's mean, and shoots unsuspecting guests with it.
I think these black phoebes look rather dapper, decked out in their formal black suit and starched white shirt. OK, maybe I'm anthropomorphizing. Black phoebes are medium flycatchers. They are monogamous. During nesting season, the male will scout out several potential nest sites, then escort the female to each, who passes judgment on the different sites and finally chooses one. Then the female does all the nest building herself. Usually 2 broods per year. Gotta keep that species going.
Again not the weather for photography - not for me anyway as I fancy a lazy day if I'm honest.
So another from the archives - I do like a smart new butterfly and this little Brown Argus was looking very dapper one August morning. This shot was again taken with the background illuminated and the butterfly in my shadow - a little adjustment in m-mode and voila.

This duck appears to be an American Black Duck x Mallard hybrid. It looks like it has a mallard body, but the head and bill of a Black Duck.
I couldn't resist grabbing a shot of this dapper gentleman at the Pike Place Market in Seattle. He stood out in the sea of casual dressers.
Happy Slider Sunday!
Full disclosure: I had no idea this was James Randi when I took the photo. The man is an IDOL of mine. I was just taking street photos and these two looked dapper. My friend later texted me and was in shock! I’ve seen “An Honest Liar” a thousand times and I didn’t even know this was James in person. How embarrassing. Regardless, it’s a great street photo. I hope everyone enjoys it.
