So gar nicht winterlich ist dieser Christtagsnachmittag doch die kalten Zuflüsse bringen etwas Nebel auf den Fluss. Die letzten Sonnenstrahlen erzeugen eine wunderbare Lichtstimmung.
This Christmas Day afternoon is not at all wintry, but the cold tributaries bring a little mist onto the river. The last rays of sunlight create a wonderful light atmosphere.

is a narrow section of the Danube Valley in the Lower Bavarian county of Kelheim, which has been recognised as a nature reserve and geotope.
This section of the valley in the southern Franconian Jura is officially called the Weltenburg Narrows (Weltenburger Enge).

Danube cruise:
Slowly the sun rises and casts its early rays over the Danube. Everything turns orange and wisps of morning mist drift over the surface of the water, flaring up in the sun's rays.
A pelican also wakes up at dawn and swims leisurely across the river.

The Danube river at Djerdap national park in Serbia, the Romanian side is across the river. It's a relatively short hike to get there, I was the first one at the viewpoint that weekend morning, I didn't see anybody walking up, but saw close to a thousand people on the way down.
