De här fantastiska skorna i guldbrokad har fyllt 100 år! Och de har det sannolikt dansats både Cha-Cha och tango i dem genom åren och än idag får de ta en svängom vid väldigt speciella tillfällen.
👠👠👠
These fantastic shoes in gold brocade just turned 100 years old. I guess both Cha-Cha-Cha and Tango have been danced in them over the years and they still get to take a turn on very special occations.
I want to take the time to say "THANK YOU" for a wonderful time of sharing photography with you.
I wish the best to each one of my flickr friends and a prosperous, loving and happy new year!
Special 'Thank You' to those who were so kind, generous and shared their photography with me for my Christmas video. I heart you all...
I'll be really busy tomorrow preparing to attend my nephew's wedding...I love to dance...and so...will be dancin' the night away into 2010!
Enjoy your evening tomorrow!

Years ago I did a comedy sketch where I played a Clog Thing, a drain clog that came to life, that was presented like King Kong to the audience. My costume was a ghillie suit and these wooden shoes. When the presenter demonstrated how he trained the creature to perform tricks, I lifted the ghillie suit to show the audience the shoes, and did a clog dance.
Zieh deine Tanzschuhe an. Und tanze deinen Blues weg.

And that works – at least for me very well – I just wanted to show you that ;-)
/
Actually, I was just doing the housework ... Then I turned on the music, hung up the mess and then started taking pictures ... Sometimes you have to do that, which is just more fun ;-)
/
Here is a song that works very well – even if it is already very old:
///
/
Hier ein Song, der sich sehr gut dazu eignet – auch wenn er schon sehr alt ist:

Dancing Shoes / Cliff Richard, The Shadows / 1962

You must have heard of a little Bo Peep
She was the gal with all the sheep
Well, one day, it's a sad to say
Her sheep all ran away
She was lonely and she was blue
She was sad and a crying too
So I told her what to do
I said, "Put on your dancing shoes"
Put on your dancing shoes
Put on your dancing shoes
Put on your dancing shoes
And dance away your blues
Mmm, yeah, yeah
A friend of mine had an accident
Laughed so hard, off the wall he went
A Humpty Dumpty was his name
I guess you've heard the same
He was lying on the ground
A bits and pieces all around
So I told him what to do
I said, "Put on your dancing shoes"
Put on your dancing shoes
Put on your dancing shoes
Put on your dancing shoes
And dance away your blues
Mmm, yeah, yeah
I'm sure…
What a noise their crying made
It was a ringing through the glade
So I told them what to do
And I changed their tears to laughter
Put on your dancing shoes
Put on your dancing shoes
Put on your dancing shoes
And dance away your blues
Mmm, put on your dancing shoes ...

#SlidersSunday
I took this on world toy camera day ( that's right, in OCTOBER!!!) and I am just getting to scanning the negatives! Oh well. Here is a little taster. This is actually the only one from this camera that came out. I had the roll taped in there for probably over a year.... The camera itself was one of those rare finds that everyone else seems to get but never me... I was shopping in Uncommon Objects, a store on South Congress in Austin, and I came upon it for just $12 I think. Pretty awesome deal. The shutter is kind of sticky and tricky, but I may have to play with it more.

A beautiful piece of sculpture beside Lough Lannagh, near where I live, with Croagh Patrick, Ireland's holy mountain in the background
Being that I cannot do any new shooting, both for my weakness and both because I must stay at home, I propose to you some archive shot that I believe you will love as I do.
Here the lovely and sweet ballerina Alberta, in a frontal view of her front split, so natural!
Freshness and beauty to the top, I had the chance to take some portraits to Alberta in the dance training room.
Adorable!

This past weekend I went through my huge memory box looking for something cool and unique to photograph. Instantly I knew that my old ballet pointe shoes would be the perfect subject to shoot. I took dance almost my entire life growing up. Ballet, tap, and hip hop were my favorite. Dance was my forte. I kept these precious pointe shoes to remind me of my past and how much I loved dancing. Memories...
Did you know that modern high heels were brought to Europe by Persian emissaries of Abbas the Great in the early Seventeenth Century? Here is another interesting fact you may not know – men wore high heels up until the mid 1800s to imply their upper-class status; only someone who did not have to work could afford, both financially and practically, to wear such extravagant shoes!
The theme for the 27th of July for “Smile on Saturday” is “wearing shoes” where the photo is showing a model (human or otherwise) wearing shoes and the shot must show the feet or the legs and not the entire body.
In the last three years, I have been exploring a new avenue in my photographic creativity, that of portraiture photography. I used a somewhat illusive sitter for several “Smile on Saturday” themes over that period as part of this exploration. Usually, you see part of his face or his hands, however today we see his feet and his legs: and what lovely legs he has! When my sitter turned forty, he threw a rather fabulous and extravagant fancy dress party, where the theme was “literary”, and he chose to go as Mr. Darcy from Jane Austen’s famous novel “Pride and Prejudice” in an outfit made for him from top to toe which he is modelling today for my photograph. You can see the tails of his frock coat, his cream breeches with antique buckle detailing, his shapely legs clad in white silk lisle stockings and a pair of black patent leather dance pumps with suitably raised heels as befits a Regency gentleman like Mr. Darcy as he attends a ball thrown by his friend Charles Bingley, or the thrillingly terrifying Lady Catherine de Borough! I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme and that it makes you smile!

Sneak peak from my session today. I oh so love my clients; they are seriously too adorable for words.
are you following SNS on twitter? do it! :)
I'm trying to purge my possessions this year by on average an item a day, net. So I thought I'd take a picture of this pair of shoes I adore before getting rid of them. Half an hour and 32 shots later I decided I'm not ready to part with them yet. SOOC.
An elegant set in mint green and burgundy. This 7-piece set is my donation to Blythecon Vancouver.
Modeled by my new girl - Tia.
A time consuming labor of love with many hand sewn details.
The corset is hand-crafted using a ribbon weaving technique, full-length sequenced skirt, boudoir shorts, dainty stockings, lovely hair ornament, bouquet and custom shoes.
I've been busy and unable to play on flickr. So much to do with sewing and also setting up a dolly shop. Looking forward to catching up with friends here.
