From an "open house" arrangement in our local activity centre. The centre covers almost every possible activity including photography and belly dancing. The belly dancers droped in at the studio on thier way to thier performance.

Dancers from Scottish Ballet in the world premiere of their new production of Swan Lake, choreographed by David Dawson.
I took this at the dress rehearsal at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow, two weeks ago.

It's in Inverness this week and will also be touring to Newcastle, Edinburgh and Liverpool.

The New Archangel Dancers -- a Russian Folk Dance group performance at Harrigan Centennial Hall in downtown Sitka, Alaska. This is a group of about 35 women (even the male parts are women) who live, work and raise their families in Sitka. Troupe members represent a variety of professions, and do the dancing part-time.
Technical Stuff Photographed by available light with the Canon EOS 40D at ISO 1600. All photos taken with the Canon 17-85mm zoom lens, zoomed to 85mm, using the widest aperture (F5.6), with a shutter speed of 1/100 second.
The Dances: The New Archangel Dancers repertoire includes over 35 dances from Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. Shows include lively dances such as Troika Polka, Ural Mountain, Korobieniki, Hutsulka, Chumak or Hopak. Flirtatious or fun loving character dances such as By the River, Kadril, Kerchief, Tsiganskii Tanyetz (Gypsy Dance), The Sailor Tap and Mirage tell a story or depict a traditional way of life. Stately and serene dances such as The Beryozka Gliding Dance, Pryalitza or Uzory lend an elegant flavor to performances, while children's favorites such as the Ribbon and Cossack Horsemen dances add another dimension.
