Photographed this insect just before sunset so it was covered by a lovely orange glow. Thanks to Rob for identifying it as a Dance/Dagger Fly. Image taken on the River Soar just behind Dishley Pool in Loughborough.

The Vanity Ballroom in Detroit was originally designed by Charles Agree and opened in 1929. It is an Art Deco building with an Aztec Theme and was used primarily for Big Bands until the 1960's. It had a 5,000 foot maple dance floor that was built on springs to support the many dancers that would be there. Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Duke Ellington, among others, frequented here during its heyday. It originally closed in 1958, reopened as a concert venue in 1964 and later was used to host concerts by Detroit acts such as the MC5. There used to be stores all along the front, including Cunningham Drugs Store, which was a big chain of stores in Detroit.
A night to never forget at Jokulsarlon, no matter how the cold was , just me and the lights dancing above...
Glad we have some live music in the park. Only in the summer and once a month but as always it is good to know that there is enough people to come so the bands have enough to play for. It is free to come and I think for the musicians too.
Tonight the fireflies are not so many here.
But the tourists are too many.
Quite difficult to take the scene as I had deisred. :((
Anyway, I enjoyed in viewing the dancing party. :))

The life-sized sculpture ‘Dancer’ (2019) presents a Brazilian dancer during an 'off' moment. Resigned, and with her eyes closed, she is smoking a cigarette in an old Chesterfield chair. Her exuberant clothing, with an impressive crown of plumes, contrasts sharply with the performer who is not performing and taking a quiet moment for herself. The sculpture expresses a frozen, silenced cheerfulness.

St. Albans, in front of the museum and close to the large artificial Christmas tree, a small child starts dancing, on its own, and completely uninhibited by anything and anyone. The parents don't join in, but they are smiling: glorious childhood, humanity before the fall. Fuji X-Pro2, XF 1.4/35 wide-open.
The bright days of early Spring, the trees still without leaves show their graceful shapes.
This one like a ballet dancer.
Seen on a walk around the countryside where I live.
Taken at Flora Day in Helston, Cornwall. A traditional celebration of the beginning of Spring held in the town every year. The childrens’ dance features all of the children and young people from all four Helston schools. They all wear white apart from school ties and flowers in the girls’ hair.
Some gentle Snapseed sliding to add some blur.

As Wikipedia says:
Belly dance is a Western term for a traditional Middle Eastern dance form. Some American devotees refer to it simply as "Middle Eastern Dance."
In the Arabic language it is known as raqs sharqi (رقص شرقي; literally "oriental dance") or sometimes raqs baladi (رقص بلدي; literally "national" or "folk" dance). The term "raqs sharqi" may have originated in Egypt. In Greece and the Balkans, belly dance is called tsiftetelli (τσιφτετέλι).
The term belly-dance is a creation of Orientalism, and is first attested in English in 1899, translating French danse du ventre
Dancing into summer because we need some warmth and freedom to look forward to during these bleak times.

All photos and textures in this montage are my own. The dancer in my image is my photograph of a sculpture in the historic Fischer-Hanlon House, Benicia State Historic Park, Benicia, California.
This pigeon was doing his mating dance to a nearby female who was totally unimpressed with his antics!
Dancers need:
a good sense of rhythm and timing
motivation, talent and creativity
good general health and excellent physical fitness
to work well in a team
to love movement, music and performing.
Dance and ballet photography in the studio has the difficulty of being able to show the movement typical of dance. Here, it is the skirt that reflects the movement, her turn around in waves.
Tanz und Ballettfotografie im Studio bringt die Schwierigkeit mit sich, die Dynamik der Bewegung schwerer zeigen zu können. Die Wellen im Rock drücken hier aus, was die Tänzerin durch eine Drehung gemacht hat.

A beautiful artistic montage using paint, collage and other techniques. Spotted in the window of a seaside hairdresser, this work caught the sun and beckoned the passing photographer... of which I was one.
Très beau montage artistique fait de peinture, collage et autres techniques. Aperçu dans la vitrine d’un coiffeur de bord de mer, cette oeuvre prenait le soleil et appelait le photographe de passage… dont je fus.
