Taken in our garden after a brief shower Have a great new week everyone!

A warm January this year brought local storms rather than wide blizzard snowstorm! This barn looks like it could face one of those cold damp days despite the deceiving golden grasses.

I have never known hunger like these insects that feast on me

A thousand teeth and yours among them, I know

Our hunger's appeased

Our heart beats becoming slow

A rather damp day here today.

This is a common butterfly of damp grassland and woodland rides and is often mistaken for its cousin, the Small White. It can be found from spring through to autumn in parks and gardens, as well as less-urban areas such as meadows and woodland rides. The so-called green veins on the underside of the adults are, in fact, an illusion created by a subtle combination of yellow and black scales. This is one of the most widespread species found in the British Isles and can be found almost everywhere although it is absent from Shetland and areas of the Scottish Highlands.

A decidedly damp day in Patterdale.

The first image from my winter paddle around the Lakes yesterday. It started out grey and windy with the odd flurry of rain before the real wet stuff came in later!

I had passed this place many years ago on an orienteering race. I have been meaning to return with a camera for ages and I decided to get around to it as I knew with all the rain that the waterfall at the end of this old quarry would certainly be flowing!

The only problem I had with this shot was the wind! The tripod was being buffeted constantly and more worryingly the branches on the trees were moving wildly. So it took quite a few attempts without upping the shutter speed and ISO to get this one!

A flashy Common Checkered Skipper butterfly fanning its wings as it maneuvers to clear moisture from its body after a short rain shower.

Localized populations can be abundant near Red/White Clover. Somewhat scarce this year.

Early morning at the Hudson River water front with Diesel - Poughkeepsie, NY

Even as a child, creepy thoughts went through your mind when you heard stories from the moor where people can sink. If you see places like that, the old stories come back to you.

Schon als Kind gingen einem gruselige Gedanken durch den Kopf, wenn man Geschichten aus dem Moor hörte, wo Menschen versinken können. Sieht man solche Stellen, kommen einem die alten Geschichten wieder hoch.

Sometimes a simple walk in the woods reveals some pretty little surprises.

Hello darkness, my old friend

I've come to talk with you again

Because a vision softly creeping

Left its seeds while I was sleeping

And the vision that was planted in my brain

Still remains

Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams, I walked alone

Narrow streets of cobblestone

'Neath the halo of a street lamp

I turned my collar to the cold and damp

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light

That split the night

And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light, I saw

Ten thousand people, maybe more

People talking without speaking

People hearing without listening

People writing songs that voices never shared

And no one dared

Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools" said I, "You do not know

Silence like a cancer grows

Hear my words that I might teach you

Take my arms that I might reach you"

But my words, like silent raindrops fell

And echoed in the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed

To the neon god they made

And the sign flashed out its warning

In the words that it was forming

Then the sign said, "The words on the prophets are written on the subway walls

In tenement halls"

And whispered in the sound of

So half past February and that means spring is coming, things are happening in the south and soon things will be blooming in Oklahoma, looking forward to life once again.

Albatros im Hafen von Damp

Actually really enjoyed a wet walk

White Flowering Dogwood on a drizzly cold and wet mid-spring morning.

We had snow and then it warmed up leaving water droplets on everything.

Snow is disappearing and the air is very damp.

I think Wales must have the worst weather, which is a shame as the scenery (when you can see it) is so beautiful.

Thank you for the graydaze texture ghostbones/skeletalmess
