I positioned it on my bookshelf so that at a certain time in the evening, the setting sun shines directly on it . . . helps me to remember that it was and is, a message from the divine.
Clay's grandfather was a loving quirky fellow who was once an optician, and after retiring, kept busy inventing things and making art that no one every though much of. It never bothered him that no one understood where he was coming from; he kept inventing and making art.
One of his pieces was this flat wooden framed glass box, in which he placed 16 glass lenses. I don't think anyone in the family wanted it, but it was perfect for us. I think my Flickr buddies can enjoy the beauty of it, too. Each lens is filled with a different facets of light, and that's how our grandpa was. Each time I look through this glass, I'm not so much reminded of this wonderful man as much as I'm reminded to take in all the facets of life and make the most of them.

When I feel, that for some reason, I loose my discipline towards acting in the direction of getting my wishes fullfilled, as much as fullfilling the promises I 've made to others....
I take a piece of paper, a favorite pencil and I write....sorting my thoughts out and setting goals...

Husnul Khatimah [The Best Ending]
The Messenger of Allaah s.a.w said: “When Allaah wills good for His slave, He sweetens him.” He was asked, “What is this sweetening?” He said, “Allaah guides him to do righteous deeds before he dies, then He takes (his soul) whilst he is in that state.” [Sahih, 1114]
And when i leave this dunya, i hope, i wish, i pray, that people will only see and speak of good things about me. I have tried my best in this dunya, and i ask of you to pray for me. As one of the best dua, is that of dua for his brother in islam. “The supplication of a brother for his brother in their absence is not rejected by Allah.” [Muslim, 6588]
So here i am, i ask of you, please pray for me. And may the same be for you. “There is no believeing servant who supplicates for his brother in his absence where the angels do not say; “The same be for you.””

It’s Arafah day! Happy happy Arafah day to all! A very special day for us.
The Prophet (pbuh) also said: “There is no day on which Allaah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of ‘Arafah.”
[Muslim]
It is a recommended sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) for those who are not pilgrims to fast on this day, since the Prophet (pbuh) was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah, so he said: “It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” [Muslim]
Indeed, all praise to Allah. It’s a day where we should be on our toes, submit to Him even more. So cleanse our heart and taste the sweetness of true submission 🌷
“He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul.”
[91:9-10]
Success in this dunya and in the hereafter is for those who are with pure hearts.
“A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes to Allah with a pure heart.”
[26:88-89]
Oh Allah give my heart its piety
And purify it, for you are the best who can purify it. You are its protector and guardian. I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord from every sin, and I repent unto Him.

We talk. Everyday. All the time. But often we forgot that many many times our Prophet s.a.w had reminded us to be very careful with our words, with what we say. And in today’s time, where the social media is our medium to vent and rant, it is even harder to be wary and thread our words carefully. We rarely think before we say or write anything. And it is easier to brag and show off more than ever, to be prideful when things get ‘viral’ and ‘likes’ and ‘followers’.
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,
“The dearest and the closest of you to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who are the best in behaviour; and the most hateful and the farthest from me on the Day of Judgement are those who talk uselessly, and put down others, and thise who show off when they talk.” [At-Tirmidhi book 18 hadith 228]
Na’udzubillahi min zalik.
“Oh Allah, beautify our speech, bless our tounges with beautiful words, with wisdom, with politeness, with kindness, and humbleness. And make us not among those who speak ill, indecent and disrespectful words that hurt others. Allahumma Amiin.”
