Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, Tinghir - Marrakech.
“Kasbah” is a word that comes from Arabic - qasaba - which literally translates to citadel.
They were built starting from the seventeenth century, although some of those we find along this road are no older than 100 years.
All are built with the "pisé" technique (straw and small pebbles cemented with mud) or in raw earth and decorated with Berber motifs.

"Road of Thousand Kasbahs", Ouarzazate, "Thousand Kasbahs"
taken last night while dad was washing dishes...he'll spend hours washing dishes and wiping down the kitchen counters....he takes great pride in his work and is always asking me to come see how he's done...
his other fave activities are sweeping the porch, raking leaves, watering the yard and flowers...but it is too cold outside for that now...I'm happy he still enjoys doing these simple tasks...even watching tv can be a struggle at times as he can't follow the plots much these days...but mom has music shows and music playing alot on the tv, and that really perks him up- he likes to sing along and dance...
:-)

From the room I sleep in at mom and dad's house...dad made this little photo collage....on the right is dad fishing at a lake, likely in fort worth in the early 1950s, on the left is my dad with his brother Pete...dad served in the air force and Pete served in the navy...both served right out of high school, so they would have been 18-ish. The plane flying overhead in the 3rd pic is likely the one my dad was a flight engineer on. (Tom pls help me out on the model of the plane)...I like to see the images he put together... :-)
Time for new wish buT still every heart want
to go back to the Time...,
when getting high meant on a swing,
when drinking meant apple juice,
when dad was the only hero,
when love was mum's hug,
when dad shoulder was the highest place on earth,
when ur worst enemies were ur siblings,
when the only thing tht could hurt were wounded knees,
when the only things broken were toys and
when GOODBYE meant only till tomorrow..
WISH U A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR

Despite appearances, this is not a double exposure: the silhouette of my father, the root of my ties to Hong Kong, reflected in the window of the 100th floor of the International Commerce Centre, from where I was looking out over the city's skyline.

Wood Stork - Florida Wetlands - Palm Beach County U.S.A.
The Wood Storks are really making a comeback after
being on the endangered species list a few years ago.

The wood stork is a large American wading bird in the stork family. It appears all white on the ground, with blackish-gray legs and pink feet. In flight, the trailing edge of the wings is black. The head is dark brown with a bald, black face, and the thick down-curved bill is dusky yellow. Juvenile birds are a duller version of the adult, generally browner on the neck, and with a paler bill. The bare head and the long bill, which can measure up to ten inches in length, render the wood stork distinctive from other large waders in its range.
