today my dad died, and I no longer have my biggest fan

This is going to be a little deep.

I got into photography because of my dad, we would go on trips and he would pull out the 35mm(s)! I loved the photos!

Back in high school I always used those cameras downtown Chicago.. buildings, light trails, windows, doors, etc

For some reason I stopped....it was always in the back of my mind

Years later Photography came up because of something my Oncologist said to me: I needed a hobby

I had been sending my dad cell phone photos of storms and sunsets in Arizona. It all clicked I should buy a DSLR and the rest is history....39 national parks later 350,000K photos

I have my hobby thanks DAD.

RIP ....

Rod Stewart said it best:

"We got but one shot at life, let's take it while we're still not afraid

Because life is so brief and time is a thief when you're undecided

And like a fistful of sand, it can slip right through your hands"

This dad is taking care of his two grackle babies. They're big enough and old enough to feed themselves and often do but as long as dad is willing to cater to them they will take advantage of it.

Around the house

Why did you tell him he could take my picture. I didn't even get a chance to fix myself up.

I never had a close relationship with my father. He died in 2014.

One of my childhood memories is that we used to watch a documentary together every friday night. It was at a time when there were only 3 TV channels out there.. *smile* ... now you know that I must be quite old .. but TV already was in color *grins*

What's left is my love for documentaries bout nature, sience, travels ... and the fragrance of the vanilla tobacco of that pipe...

He wasn't happy with my being in the garden hoping to catch the cubs playing and barked at me until I went inside. This was taken from inside my house and I still felt guilty..
