This photo was taken yesterday before work, using my macro lens attachment. I love the way my lens attachment works. It's really fun to mess around with.
My garden has REALLY exploded this year with beautiful flowers.. I was very surprised. Last year I purchased a good bit of flowers and planted them.. and we had a VERY hot summer and although I tried to keep up watering them enough.. the garden is in direct sunlight for most of the day.. & eventually they dried up. I wasn't expecting them to come up again this year.. But to my surprise they are ALL up and prettier than ever. Every single flower that could be bloomed IS bloomed & PERFECT. I mean, there are flowers on top of flowers on top of flowers! I am so happy to see that.

>>This photo was for my 52FRAMES submission this week. WIDE APERTURE PORTRAIT. In the camera settings I was in, the lowest my camera would go for this environment was f/3.5.. But I have to say, I am loving what WIDE APERTURE does to a photo! Look at the effect it had on this portrait of her!
(This photo is basically SOOC (straight out of camera), I just slightly altered the contrast and color a tad.. nothing else!) But the wide aperture DID THIS! You know, I am grateful that a friend on here recommended me checking out 52frames (as well as flickr) because he knew how much I loved doing photo challenges.. Because I love how it's timed.. *with a count down*, And they push you to try new things, and jump out of your comfort zone. I literally have learned something new or tried something I wouldn't have normally (every week that I've been a part of it). And I am SO GRATEFUL. So this week I learned how cool wide aperture can be! This effect is AWESOME! I'll definitely be doing this again soon in a photo session! WOW!!

I am sure that you all can tell, but I've been pretty busy lately!
With work.. and a lot of stuff going on in my personal life lately.. But I make my photography very top priority! (As much as I can). As soon as I get a spare moment.. that's what I'm doing.. OR I bring my camera along for my business and photograph THAT sometimes too!
But yeah I've been pretty busy..

I don't know why I love it so much... Maybe it's the color.. the low down view.. the naturalness to this.. with the grass growing thru the flower.. Or the shadows and light.. or maybe the flower bokeh in the background? Or maybe just all of it.
I'm not sure though.. but I LOVE IT. So I had to make sure I got online and uploaded this today, before I forgot again!

>>AND, I hope that you all had a beautiful Easter! Mine was nice.. We really spent it driving around to pet stores (surprisingly they were open..) looking for a doggy diaper for DABABY- REESE.. (my dachshund). She has her lady-cycle.. and the little drops can be a nuisance.. So Juan made it top priority on Easter Sunday to find a quality diaper of some type that will for the most part STAY ON. (Thank goodness WE DID FIND ONE- that is pretty darn good!) ..So that's good!
Yeah that was my Easter lol!

While spending the day in Ottawa taking photos with my friend Marc back in October 2024, we encountered and chatted with Darwin, owner of Dababy, and creator of Newborn Baby Gifts (Toddler Tees & Varsity Jackets). He has an outdoor tent/display in the Byward Market. Darwin was interested in our film cameras and we had a long conversation about film photography, music and movies. His hat “John Carpenter’s The Thing” sparked a conversation about movies. Darwin was a makeup effects artist working in the film industry back in the 80s. The Thing is a movie near and dear to him in regard to its groundbreaking realism and unique "creature". As you can see from his t-shirt, he confirmed that his favourite band of all time is Led Zeppelin. He gladly posed for me when asked. I also took a few film shots of Darwin with my 1958 Leica M2 which I will post at a later date. We enjoyed our chat and looking at his clever Toddler Tee artwork.
