I saw this pair of ducks today that I have been noticing for a while. Always together, I am impressed by how loyal they are. They were milling about in the water, coming toward me, like they were looking for food. I went back to the house and grabbed some crackers, fully expecting them to be gone by the time I got back.

The ducks were still there and immediately went for my offering but trying a few nibbles, they rejected my crackers. What's wrong with these ducks, I distinctly remember feeding ducks bread and crackers as a kid. They were still there looking at me. I felt like I had disappointed the ducks that I had wanted to befriend. They seemed like they were sticking around so I said I would be back with something better.

I went back to the house wondering what the heck ducks eat, grabbed a piece of chicken out of the fridge and my camera. As I walked back to the water I glanced down at my camera and saw that I had a manual focus 24mm lens on it. Ugh, not the best setup for birding but I was not going back to the house again, my legs were getting tired.

When I got back to the ducks they were nowhere to be seen. I called to them and I can do pretty good duck call through my hand, no ducks. Bean who had followed me back and forth each time got rewarded with the duck's chicken. By then the sky had started to do something nice to the water and it turned out I did have the right lens on after all.

This time, one from the archives. Shot earlier this year.

Non-traditional composition for me. It's all about the space around objects. Isolation is important in my photography. Sometimes, less is more.

This is a long exposure done with the aid of a Hoya ND400 filter.

EXO 805 has two dual mode units together (AMT 1358 & AMT 1359), a very rare configuration for any EXO train.

I had some glorious conditions at Sutton Park recently. Frost, mist and a wonderful, soft dawn. The result was me feeling like a kid in a candy store.

Substance or Cartesian dualism.

Substance dualism is a type of dualism most famously defended by René Descartes, which states that there are two kinds of foundation: mental and body. This philosophy states that the mental cannot exist outside of the body, and the body cannot think.

This weeks Macro Mondays theme is Less Than An Inch.

This is a 12 volt automotive type bulb with dual elements. I believe it is a bulb to be used as a running light and turn indicator. I do know that one element requires a great deal more voltage to glow than the other.

The bulb is 3/4 of an inch wide, so I still had room to spare.

One more from one of the pairs of mated bald eagles we spent some time with a few months ago. This pair landed together in the top of some nearby trees and after some time, they began to call out together ... responding to each others calls and celebrating together.

Eagle calls are quite distinctive and fascinating to hear in nature. Of course, having them both isolated against the sky, instead of being in the midst of the tree branches, leaves, and moss, was equally exciting.

Thanks for stopping by to view. Happy Monday!

It's dual mode time!

My Flickr friend Khaniv just interested on analog film slr. Previously he had the lovely Nikon D40x with his bokehlicious 35mm F1.8 (effective in 50mm) then our friend Luluk borrowed him a Pentak K1000 film slr combined with helios lens 50mm F1.8.. to poisoned him with film camera hehe :D

I got you dude, on Dual mode (slr and digital) exposure..

enjoyed the cult of film mode hehe :D

An early snowfall this year made for some beautiful pictures at Reflection Lake.

Rebuilt EMD SD10 534 was sporting its Dual Flag paint as it sat hooked to a Bandit roster mate at Bensenville in 1999.

The 534 was built in 1952 for the Milwaukee Road as SD7 2209 and rebuilt by the Milwaukee into a SD10.

Canadian Pacific sold the old EMD to NRE and it wound up in Silvis.
