I haven't had the chance to dress very often lately so here are a few photos from earlier this month. The dress was from Dorothy Perkins that my wife picked out for me a while back.

Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr! 🍀

Happy New Year! 🍀

It occured to me one day that I had lots of veggie fabric and a dress pattern, so this was the logical outcome. I am a silly vegetarian. Wrinkly and unhemmed, I hate ironing and hemming.

Halloween dress #02.

Miki's wasn't really in the mood to model the dress for me earlier today though. She's a bit upset because yesterday while holding her, she slipped and my finger nail accidentally scratched a part of her lip paint & cheeks. I've already removed her original lip paint and put on a temporary one while I decide on whether to send her back to Lati or have someone else redo her face-up. I'm so annoyed with myself as this is the second time I've scratched her face and it'll be her third time getting her make-up redone.

Here's a link to her previous looks on my old flickr account:

I want to make a dress! I have a beautiful blue pillowcase I'd like to use for the body and a large rose-colored fabric napkin I want for the upper portion. Inspired by suzdeth's tutorial for a smock top, I started working on this mock-up made of bed sheets a few days ago. Of course with a pillowcase there's only so much fabric to work with, so to get used to this, I cut out 2 pieces from the sheets that are the same height as the pillowcase and half the width of the pillowcase when seam-ripped and laid flat.

I think this design would look at lot better if the main part flared out from the top band instead of going straight down. Does that make sense? Right now, it's just a straight tube that's gathered at front and back to fit the top band. The pillowcase I plan to use is patterned so perhaps that will distract the eye from unslightly bunchiness? I don't want to put a contrasting belt all the way around because that would take away from the pattern on the front of my pillowcase for final version.

Questions:

1) Have fabric ties in the back?

2) Make flared instead of straight?

If I make it flare out, I will have to add fabric panels of some sort to extend the sides of my pillowcase pieces.

Changes that will be implemented for my final version:

>> longer straps

>> add a lining (these white linens will be the lining)

>> might add another panel to the bottom and tack on a few layers of black lace

dressilyme sexy red evening dress, perfect gift for your beloved partner!

I'm going to Ryan Abbotts grad!!!

This is the dress I picked out last night.. fell in love with it.. HAD to buy it.

Bought it at Samuel and Co! Ya yaaaa!

All I need now is shoes and some jewelery. I'll be looking for those soon.. but, first ANY suggestions on hair styles? My hairs super short and I don't think it'll be much longer then what it is now by the time grad actually comes.. I'm also keeping it red.

Meg Warren? This is where you comment! Ha

Apparently grad is in 62 days.. So says Abbott myself in a text message this morning

SO EXCITED!!

I made a little dress for Sophia with the fabric I got given for Christmas.

looks cute with leggings, I think. The necklace was originally attached to the neckline of the dress but that sucked so I took it off and just made it a necklace. from 15dollarstore.com

Most modern Chinese men and women dress in Western style clothes, we saw several people of the Ethnic Minorities in China dressed in their tribal style. This woman shows the bright colors and patterned embroidery of the Tujia people; others from different parts of China who were visiting the Forbidden City and the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao were attired in their own tribal styles and colors. We saw very few of the drab older style Chinese tunic outfits (Mao suit, or Sun Yat-sen suit) that were almost ubiquitous in the 1960's and 70's. The colors and embroidery of the traditional ethnic dress is a lot more photogenic!

(Notice the Chinese knot hanging down into the water; it's a good luck charm and her husband was on the stern fishing.)

i bought this Kallima dress from Styles by Danielle a few days ago and it is soooo gorgeous, it needed an extremely posh setting to do it justice. the poshest place i know in SL is Angel Manor, which has also been revamped considerably since my last visit, so i took myself there to borrow their stage for a few photos. it was empty when i arrived, so i turned my graphics up to their highest setting, posed and preened while the world slowed down to a standstill...

So while I was packing I realised I had never shared my formal dress with you kids! Our formal is kind of like your Prom I think. So I already had the skirt, it is pink-blue shot silk and I got the top made. It is real leather, V neck with a butterfly cut into it. Ended up a complete disaster as my um.. upperbody was changing, A lot, while it was being made so it didn't fit quite right but I still like it

A coworker of mine is from Canada and loves Ruffles All Dressed potato chips. You can't get them in the U.S. (just like you can't get ketchup-flavored chips, but that's no big loss...)
