Another one from our Sunday drive to the coast near Lagonisi. The weather, the light and the big waves combined with the long exposure really give the impression of a dreamscape.
Άλλη μια φωτό απ' την Κυριακάτικη βόλτα μας στην παραλία κοντά στο Λαγονήσι. Ο καιρός, το φως και τα μεγάλα κύματα σε συνδυασμό με τη μακρά έκθεση δίνουν πραγματικά την εντύπωση ενός ονειρικού τοπίου.
A surreal interpretation of nature through infrared. This gem was shot with a modified IR camera @ 720nm and converted to color.

Walking through a forest, I came upon an area covered with these ferns and the magical feel and beauty really captured my eye.
I learned that Dryopteris intermedia is a common species within its range of eastern North America, nevertheless I thought the scene I had encountered right then was very special and I tried to convey the atmosphere in this shot I took. I fancy it would have made a good resting place. Soft, welcoming and peaceful.
Fronds grow to around 90 cm in length and 20 cm wide. Frond leaflets are lobed and toothed. Sori (fruit dots, as seen here) appear on the leaflet undersides on fertile fronds in early to mid-summer.

Here is another shot along the river bank that I chose to show in black and white. I was afraid that people might think I was trying to show bleakness again and my "I'm done with winter" sentiments. While I am tired of winter that was not the focus of this shot. I won't say what I was trying to express but let you take from it what you will. :-)

On a cold, windy day such as we have here today, even a simple display of green and colour (other than white!) would be nice.

We had a "photography tour" early one morning out on the Zodiac. We floated quietly through this gorgeous dreamscape of blue icebergs beautifully reflected in the still waters.
A nice afternoon at the caste Neuschwanstein. In the back the Forgensee. When you pass the famous view from Marienbrücke and walk some hundred meters up the mountain you find this phantastic natural viewing platform forbidden to step on.
