Cirque Innosta presents Imaginque - Elitch Gardens - Denver, Colorado

along a seascape that turns into dreams we wandrered

past the black rocks that glow from the kiss of the sea

Childhood scenes evoked of castles and legend

of fortresses, gold and secrets not told

old men at sea whispered of this place

Even the angels spread rumour of it's beauty

I suppose history sneeks upon on you

and surrounds you only with awe when you breathe it

the fortress has stood since 1313

growing ever more beautiful in decay and

I savour walking through realms

of dreamscapes from my own fairy tales

Helios 44-2 58 mm f/2.0 on Fuji XT3 with front lens element reversed.

Inspired by the backdrop for "Beautiful Monsters" by the Helios Dance Theatre. I saw their exquisite performance October 23, 2010, at UCLA and I look forward to seeing this outstanding contemporary dance company again in the hopefully near future!

Ginkaku-ji Kannon-den Temple (Silver Pavilion), is a temple belonging to the Buddhist Shokoku School of the Rinzai Zen sect. It is an elegant building set in beautiful grounds at the foot of Kyoto's eastern mountains.

I was glad to get this shot because the area became quickly crowded with visitors even though it was only 9:15am. A class of uniformed secondary students with bright red caps filled the foreground seconds later.

Unfortunately it was a 'soft' day but the Autumn colours in the garden were still vibrant.

February 2022

Here is a way to start your week.

The beautiful waters of the Gulf coast, illuminated by the setting sun.

We needed a escape, so off we went.

We were celebrating our 22 years of being happily married. It was wonderful! It was very summerlike, and we quickly got used to it. So much so when we returned we forgot that you couldn't quite run around in your shorts and flip flops after dark!

Will catch up with y'all later....for now..lots of unpacking, laundry, and household duties..

Have a great day!

It was beautiful night. The moon illuminated the frozen water fall and the aurora flew over the sky. I felt I was in a dream.

My second favourite shot from last week. On occasion it's my favourite because the light is a little more subtle.

I slept out on the hill almost exactly a year before and was kept awake by the supermoon, so it was nice to be able to get it in this shot too.

'Dreamscape 2' On Black

Interestingness in Explore - #7 on Monday, January 29, 2007

One of the comments on Dreamscape was asking what would happen if I did adjust the picture. At first I couldn't see any adjustments to be made, I loved the picture as it was shot. But the comment kept nagging at me to try and see if I could improve the shot even more. So, although the same picture, this one I did adjust the lighting a wee bit.
