The Downtown Terminal in Auckland, New Zealand, is a major transportation hub located in the heart of the city. Connecting various modes of transport, it serves as a vital axis for both residents and tourists. Situated on the waterfront, it offers spectacular views of the harbor and the surrounding islands. The main services include ferry routes to the Hauraki Gulf islands, such as Waiheke and Rangitoto, as well as connections to Devonport. It is also a departure point for buses heading to different parts of the city and the airport. Its modern design and central location make it a key meeting point. In addition to being a transport center, the terminal is surrounded by restaurants and shops, making it a vibrant area. It's the connection point between Auckland's urban life and the natural beauty of the region.

I have been to my friends place in Chicago this week. While walking across the streets in downtown, I've shot this bottom-up image of these concrete structures.
Vancouver, CANADÀ 2024
Vancouver’s Downtown is the heart of the "City of Glass," a peninsula where modern architecture is defined by transparency, steel, and a lot of concrete.
A Forest of Glass: Unlike older cities built with brick or stone, Vancouver’s core is dominated by sea-green and blue glass towers. This design choice was intended to pull in as much natural light as possible while reflecting the surrounding water and sky.
Concrete Jungle: It is one of the most densely populated urban centers in North America. The streets are lined with sleek high-rises that create deep "urban canyons" of concrete and reflective surfaces.
Urban Contrast: Despite the heavy use of hard materials, the city planning integrates small pocket parks and a world-famous seawall, balancing the grey cement with the blue of the Pacific.
Atmosphere: As the city's commercial hub, it blends the high-stakes business of Burrard Street with the bustling shopping district of Robson Street and the nearby historic charm of Gastown.

As night fell the storm moved toward the city and I was able to capture this bolt right over downtown!
A quiet street scene in Newbern, Tennessee is captured with a mix of one- to two-story buildings including the City Hall on the left. Shops and businesses with colorful facades line the opposite side of the street under a partly cloudy sky.
