This is Don from down the street. Easily one of the nicest guys you could meet, easy with a smile and great to shoot the breeze with. Hi Don!
Bucks don't get much rest during the Fall rut. They eat and sleep little, always on the move to find and breed receptive does with a few fights thrown in. They are physically exhausted by the end of the rut. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
...That pointless stroll we've been taking with my brother just after i got off the bus started to become very meaningful to me when i saw this statue of Don Quijote. As a fresh graduate who feels like his whole ideals about life had collapsed, who lost all his hopes about the future and who has just been discouraged and disappointed by women, i found all the inspiration i need in this man on his horse.
He was a lunetic dreamer. Yet he never gave up on his dreams and always stood up against whatever stands in his way. Even though attacking a windmill was seen a pointless act by others, he chose to attack it any way. Because he wasn't interested in the thing or person he challenged; his whole interest was about challenge itself.
Then i took this beautiful silhouette to remind me this every time i look at it:
"Just because your dreams have never become reality, it doesn't mean that there is no point in dreaming. To make your life more endurable,
Struggle against reality; Enjoy your dreams."

~ don't speak ~
by No Doubt
You and me
We used to be together
Every day together always
I really feel
That I'm losing my best friend
I can't believe
This could be the end
It looks as though you're letting go
And if it's real,
Well I don't want to know
[Chorus]
Don't speak
I know just what you're saying
So please stop explaining
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
Don't speak
I know what you're thinking
I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
Our memories
They can be inviting
But some are altogether
Mighty frightening
As we die, both you and I
With my head in my hands
I sit and cry
[Chorus]
It's all ending
I gotta stop pretending who we are,
You and me
I can see us dying, are we?
I don't talk to flowers, they talk to me and I gladly listen with my eyes!
Shimmering in silky tones I discovered these, a mix if white and pink I had NEVER seen before!
The petals look 'waxy' but feel silky soft!
The peony was originally introduced as medicine.
In fact, its ancient Japanese name "Ebisugusuri" literally means ‘medicine from China’.
However, due to its beautiful and now mostly double blooms, in time, many decorative varieties were developed. In Japanese society, it was seen both as a medicine and a source of beauty.
THANKS for ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated.
Have a wonderful day, filled with love and beauty, M, (*_*)

Sun breaks through the clouds. The rays of light illuminate the lower slopes of Grindslow Knoll.
Just a quick "rest stop" while on our way from San Jose to Quincy. Not sure why the moving truck (with uncle driving) went this way, but I'm certainly glad he did. Awesome October afternoon in the mountains!
"I don't like it when people are trying too hard. That goes for clothes, for acting, for everything. It's just not good when it seems like you're making too much of an effort."

Just so everyone knows, Don took this shot of himself! I did an HDR edit on it, but we've never actually met in person! It's one of my favorite photos of him. I WISH I could take credit! Now, for the reason for the post:
My beloved friend, Don Briggs, is in the hospital and I am asking all who pray to please pray for a total healing for him. Don had a minor stroke which has affected his smile and speech slightly.
Please pray that there will be no further strokes, and that the damage can be reversed. Don texted me yesterday. They are keeping him in the hospital till Thursday. I will be calling later to see how he is.
Don is a master photographer who has been on Flickr for a long time. Many of you will already be familiar with him, but for those who aren't, here's a link to his wonderful photos: www.flickr.com/photos/donbriggs You won't find a bad one in the bunch! If you follow Explore, then you already know Don. He's on there pretty regularly! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers at this time. I want to see many more wonderful posts from this great man, and want to see him happy, healthy, and out of danger!
UPDATE:
Don is home! He's doing better.
