Designed by Jesse Hartley, Stanley Dock opened on 4 August 1848. The dock is the only one in Liverpool which was built inland, all the others being built out from the foreshore. The original quay warehouses are of a similar design to those at Albert Dock and are grade II* listed buildings. The warehouses were built to five storeys, covering an area of 12,000 sq yd (10,000 m2). Between 1897-1901, the southern part of the dock was filled in to build the large Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse by Anthony George Lyster. The northern warehouse has since been developed in to a hotel devoted to the White Star Line's RMS Titanic liner, which has strong links to the area's history of docks and shipping.

Steveston Docks took to the media this past weekend.

Anyone watching the world news or viewing online videos may have learned about a little girl that was snatched from one of the docks and pulled under water by what appeared to be an aggressive or possibly an annoyed sea lion.

It was reported that some people had been feeding bread crumbs to the wild sea lion just before the incidence occurred..

The girl was rescued ( by a very courageous and fast acting man) and appeared to be unharmed.

There has been a public warning issued, reminding people not to feed the wild life.

From Dry Dock to Museum and Coffee Shop! They were still building this when we visited 4 years ago, but already this space, once you descended into the old dry dock, gave you opportunity to get out of the biting wind.

Albert Dock reflections... my first time shooting landscapes with a Fujifilm mirrorless camera and the results were very pleasing. I was blessed with a colourful sky and little wind, resulting in nice smooth water which was further improved by my long 15 second exposure. Thanks to everyone who likes and comments on my posts.

Klaipeda Lithuania.

Klaipėda It is the third largest city and the capital of Klaipėda County, as well as the only major seaport in Lithuania.

The city has a complex recorded history, partially due to the combined regional importance of the usually ice-free Port of Klaipėda at the mouth of the river Akmena-Danë Located in Lithuania Minor, it was historically a part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth until its partition into the Prussia, and Germany until the 1919 Treaty of Versailles when it gained its independence and was placed under French occupation. In 1923, the Klaipėda Revolt resulted in the city's annexation by Lithuania, which lasted until it was occupied by Germany following the 1939 German ultimatum to Lithuania. Klaipėda has remained within Lithuania since the country's independence.

The city continues to experience sustained demographic decline due to flight towards the suburbs and other cities. The number of inhabitants of Klaipėda city shrank from 202,929 in 1989 to 162,360 in 2011, but the urban zone of Klaipėda expanded well into the suburbs, which sprang up around the city and surrounded it from three sides. These are partly integrated with the city (city bus lines, city water supply, etc.), and the majority of inhabitants of these suburbs work in Klaipėda. According to data from the Department of Statistics, there are 212,302 permanent inhabitants (as of 2020) in the Klaipėda city and Klaipėda district municipalities combined.Popular seaside resorts found close to Klaipėda are Neringa to the south on the Curonian Spit and Palanga to the north.[
