Metal screws casting long shadows in bright spotlight, artistic lighting on white surface and wall background
Classic Picador hacksaw palm grip handle with part of an Eclipse 24 teeth hacksaw blade. A handy tool to have if you are a practical DIY type of person. "Handle"... "Macro Mondays"...
Got a call from a friend, that his son had a school project to hand in shortly and that he had to do something visual for the final part and was wondering if I could help out.
As I was working out a tutorial session for a workshop anyway I used this as a test walk through as I would be showing his son how to go about creating this.
I used a bottle blade and some cheap pound shop Christmas LED string lights for the orb. The standing wood frame was lit with some sweet wrappers over my lenser.
This is a very old hammer which has done many a job but thankfully I do have a hammer that is only about 6-months old!
Apologies for being absent but I've been somewhat busy of late, doing my best to catch up!!

Weekly Theme Challenge - DIY Tools
This hand crimping tool for 4-, 6- or 8-way cable termination (RJ45 and the like) has saved me a fortune in professionally made patch cables when setting up my home office network.

i made a little 2" loom to make patches for my socks instead of darning....
here you can see it next to a 4" hazel rose multi loom. you can also see woven squares from each showing the difference in Sett. the tighter weave is perfect for socks.
Weekly Them Challenge-DIY Tool
Once the cooler weather is here Stu and I will once again get out our Sauerkraut Making Tools. Each item is a tool in the process. The Crock Pot will house the cabbage so it can ferment. The weights will keep the kraut pressed so the water comes out of it and it stays submerged. The Wooden Hammer will be used to pound the kraut to extract the liquid from it before we put it into the Crock Pot. It's a long and very laborious process, but there's nothing quite like Home Made! I have to say a word about the Bubbies Sauerkraut. It's probably the best tasting and closest to home made I've ever tasted, but I still like ours better :)
Playing about in the hallway testing the gaffer-tape and string Do It Yourself light tool cobbled together from bits of broken kit.
I got the idea to make this from fellow lady gearhead Ally of the Everything DIY Youtube channel. (youtu.be/Ew87fLr6Omw)
She made hers out of angle iron she bought; mine is just an upcycled part of a steel bedframe that I made sure was straight. I actually had all the parts I needed to make this already, including the angle finder. This angle finder is only accurate to +/- .3º, but it was cheap at only $35. If I can get a more accurate one that isn't ridiculously expensive, eventually I'll replace it.
In case you were wondering, yes I'm going to start doing my own alignments on my Civic Si!
Cupcakes for a gentleman turning 80 who likes DIY and Liverpool FC. I was asked for 24 cupcakes to deliver this theme - so I came up with this: each layer telling you something new about this gentleman, by using 'Liverpool red' through out the cakes, they all tie together. When the customer came to pick up the cakes, he explained that he couldn't visualise what I would do, he was more than happy with the outcome, which in turn put a big smile on my face.
So, in case anyone wants to know, these new lights i got are slightly different than what i worked with before. The patterns are different, and it also took me a bit to understand that you can now hold the functions buttons (black boxish thing with two silver buttons) to turn it off. You can also cut the power, and turn it back on with the same pattern still on! When the power is tripped on, the whole wand lights up but only for a split second, then it reverts to no lights. Upon pushing the functions button once, the last pattern resumes. Different, unexpected, awesome.
If you commented on the last photo list, that is the order of shipping once i set up paypal. If you didn't see or comment the last photo and want me to sell you one of these they are:
$30 stock packaging
$60 wired and assembled by TCB

Cut on a table saw to accommodate a file for fret trimming and beveling. 2x4 has a slight cup to it that fits the fretboard radius nicely!
