The jacket is a DIY project of mine, finally it is ready to use :) Originally it was way too big for me and the colour was dark and a bit green maybe. So I bleached and reshaped it and now it is wearable again.
I've search all the net and couldn't find any coronet shutter like this.Guess is from 30's with a doublet achromatic lens.DIY mount on Dslr produces odd grainy result. The feeling is great but the focus is quite difficult.Focuses by turning the front element. There is a pin that is so small you can't find it

My current (July 2007) organizer layout. One Circa notebook with quad-ruled 5.5" x 8.5" paper for Capture. Second Circa notebook for Calendar, Errata, Notes, Next Actions, Waiting For, and blank Project Detail sheets for notes.
The Calendar pages are 2-pages per Week, and are a custom design.
So I made my own filter today to get a funky bokeh effect.
First I found the image I wanted and printed up various sizes until I got one that was just right for the 58mm filter size of a 50mm f/1.4 lens.
On a piece of old christmas card, I traced out the icon and cut it out with a sharp knife. For the eyes, I simply placed a bit of tape over the cut out and stuck them into position carefully.
Next I made a cardboard ring andd stuck the filter to it and mounted it to the camera.
Pretty simple and the results are funky.

DIY cardboard lightbox: white broadcloth diffusion material; 2 craft foam sheets connected under plexiglass for background; Nikon SB-24 set on manual at 1/16 power; Cactus V2 trigger for wireless flash. Standing on foot supplied with SB-800 flash.
NOTE: putting the Cactus V2 hotshoe foot (in the image, it's under the SB-24 flash) in the stand supplied with the SB-800 (and also available separately) is NOT a good idea. The connection is poor and the Cactus foot all too easily slides out.

Three DIY lenses mounted on foamcore lensboards. Thanks to the mighty Speed Graphic and it's focal plane shutter, all manner of lenses and experiments will ensue!
Can confirm that B&D VPX pack with datecode "2007 33-BM" (stamped into outer plastic label) has A123 18650's inside. Had to remove cardboard sleeve from one cell to reveal the yellow jacket. The Black and Decker outlet store at Tanger in Howell has these packs for $12/each.

I did this french manicure using "Respect the World" by Nicole by OPI. Then I used a little bit of clear nail polish so that I could dust the smile lines with lime green glitter that I got at Michael's. Love it!!
Painted wooden clothespins, "glitter" construction paper, yarn and small wooden spheres.
Here, you can see the reindeer "resting" on the radiator while their noses and hooves dry...
Suggested variation: round/spherical red fuzzy noses!

The DIY rig I used for my shots of the van.
Consisting of-
A suction glazing carrier I bought of Ebay for a few quid.
Manfrotto Superclamp
Ball head.
Camera with fisheye.
The suction cup fitted nicely to the flat panel on the side of the van, I ran the strap through the door just in case it came off.
DIY softbox.
1. Buy foam core board and heavy duty packing tape. I got 2 sheets at Staples in Columbia heights for 12 bucks and the tape was 3 bucks and some change.
2. for supplies i used a ruler, box cutter, pen and a t-square.
3. Cut out all your pieces from the foam core. t-square really helps keep edges perfect. back piece is 6" tall by 12 inches wide and top and bottom are 6.5 inches wide by 12 inches long. side flaps are 6 inches at the base and 12 inches on top side, height is 6.5 inches.
4. Once pieces are ready, trace around your flash head on one of the 6.5" tall pieces. Cut it out and test fit your flash head in there. I always cut a little on the snug side for a good fit.
5. Lay out the three rectangular pieces in this order (from closest to you to furthest away). 6.5"x12" with hole, 6"x12", 6.5"x12". Keep the edges tight to each other and run a strip of packing tape on the two joints.
6. Stand it up on edges and attach the side flaps. I attached the short ends together first and then the flaps. Once everything is secure with tape, you can put some freezer paper over the opening to diffuse the light and you should be good to go.
I was able to make two soft boxes of this size, one from each sheet with some stuff left over. You can change dimensions as needed. Not bad for about 15 bucks in materials
