This is a pied-billed grebe adult - one of the parents - just after diving, seeking fish. Wish I could've managed a shot with a fish there, too, but just happy to get it near enough the shore to see the bird!

It's amazing how long these guys can stay under. I followed this one for a while along the beach, and was sometimes very surprised by where it came up!

Eagle Stopped by to fish in my neighborhood pond, and causes an uproar among local birds. In fact, it was the sound of the ducks, geese, and black birds that drew my attention to his presence.
This is the same Lesser Scaup that I took the photo of diving. She came up with weeds around her. Mill Lake, Abbotsford, B.C.
Now that COVID restrictions are being eased it was great to head back to Tom's hides in Bourne (www.wildlife-photography-hides.co.uk) recently. He has a new setup for diving kingfishers so it was great to give it a go for a few hours...
I would like to say my lightning reactions resulted in this shot, but it was a bit of luck, I was pressing the shutter at just the moment the Kingfisher dived. No pre-capture here!
I'll try to space out my shots of these guys I have them in-flight diving up & down stretching ,preening, scratching, eating fish everything except doing a poo which I missed :)
