During breeding season the plumage of the Great White Heron turns into a wedding dress. They love to display or show off these beautiful feathers as shown demonstrated. Taken at Venice Audubon Rookery in Venice Florida just after sunrise.
Something opens our wings.
Something makes boredom and hurt disappear.
Someone fills the cup in front of us: We taste only sacredness.

The largest/heaviest flying bird native to Africa, the Kori Bustard (Ardeotis kori) is a ground dwelling bird and an opportunistic omnivore. The males can get up to 42 lbs and stand nearly 5 feet tall; they may be twice as heavy as the females.
This is a male in breeding display striding about with his neck puffed out, his tail fanned and wings planed and pointed downward. If he was looking to court a lady, we saw none in the vicinity - perhaps he was just practicing his routine.

"Whether stepping singly across a wet meadow or filling the sky by the hundreds and thousands, Sandhill Cranes have an elegance that draws attention. These tall, gray-bodied, crimson-capped birds breed in open wetlands, fields, and prairies across North America. They group together in great numbers, filling the air with distinctive rolling cries. Mates display to each other with exuberant dances that retain a gangly grace. Sandhill Crane populations are generally strong, but isolated populations in Mississippi and Cuba are endangered."

I enjoyed such scene so much.
The timing of upper and lower fireworks can be enjoyed at the same time.
The control of launch timing is really nice.

A pair of Dippers are building their nest on an old bridge and I was watching this male frequently singing in midstream when the female was close by.On this occasion he raised his wings and started to shake as she flew passed.
Taken today on Exmoor.
As ever, thanks to everyone who looks at and comments on my photos.
Upcycling shop in Wirksworth. Old tat repurposed, usually into a lamp...some of which is quite attractive and some...well, let’s be kind, some not so much.
These hyacinths were on display at Roozengaarde, as part of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, located in Mount Vernon, Washington. They were just in a large bucket--as you can see; and most people probably just walked on by....but I thought they were so pretty, I had to grab a few pics. Hope you enjoy!
