🇫🇷 Pourquoi j’aime Disney ?

Ça me plaît beaucoup.

Ça me plaît beaucoup.

Disney me plaît beaucoup !

🇬🇧 Why do I love Disney?

Disney developed my imagination and creativity, just like it did for many children from a very young age.

As Walt Disney said:

“Every child is born blessed with a vivid imagination. But just as a muscle grows flabby with disuse, so the bright imagination of a child pales in later years if he ceases to exercise it.”

I became like those children who watch Disney movies dreaming of never growing up like Peter Pan.

But I told myself that these movies were made by people older than me.

I had to keep exercising my imagination every day.

I really like that.

Later, I discovered Disneyland.

Disneyland parks are the happiest places in the world. They are created with passion, down to the smallest detail of each of their themes. Forget about merchandise and focus on the essentials. Embellish the scenery, make people laugh, make them happy, without ever resting on your laurels.

“Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

Just like the staff who strive to play their roles in the parks, it's impossible for me not to want to improve this world or improve myself. This motivation to always improve every little thing, to make it more practical, more solid, more beautiful. The satisfaction of completing one project and starting another.

I often tell myself that the things we regret most are the things we don't try.

So I repeat to myself a quote from the visionary Walt Disney:

“It's kind of fun to do the impossible.”

I really like that.

I really like Disney!

Geez, how would we know what ideal to have for women if it weren't for Walt Disney? First, we have the waist. This waist isn't even achievable on the model circuit, and the combination of that waist and brust would lead our poor beauty to chronic back problems. The hair? Gotta be extensions. Never seen hair like that on a real person. Finally, what's with Disney's woman always talking to birds on their hands? If a bird came up to any woman (or man) I know, they probably flip out and swat it.

This figurine is not some old relic from the antique shop, it's Disney's Modern Woman. It's a laugh, because they go to all of this trouble to pretend that they're "feminist" by making movies with female leads, but that's just an appeal to 50% of the market. They still treat women like crap in their narratives.

In Disney, aren't the mothers of most of these women/girls either gone or evil?

In Disney, doesn't the heroine always get supplemented by the male hero... or have to ACT like a male in order to succeed?

I'd love to hear your thoughts what you think the "message" is behind most of these Disney tales...

The Parish Church of Saint Peter

The village of Norton Disney sits close to the River Witham just off the Fosse Way (Roman road) between Lincoln and Newark on Trent, a 1st century roman villa was discovered by a farmer close to the village.

The village church is dedicated to St Peter and has an unbuttressed Early English west tower, the church also contains a brass commemorating three generations of the d’Isigny family dating from about 1580.

The d'Isigny (Disney) family owned the manor here and had a castle and a 17th century manor house built from the castle ruins, however nothing of these now remain. It is believed that the American film producer Walt Disney is a decedent of the Disney family from here, Walt Disney himself along with his family visited the village in 1949.

I heard the news this morning that Disney has bought Lucasfilm for a whopping $4 billion!!

Not sure if it’s sad or good news. I’m not really interested in the business side of things.

I just hope Disney will keep the Lucasfilm legacy alive and build upon it.

Anyways, I thought this would be a great crossover image, so I dusted off my Tron-Darth image and Disney-ed it up a bit.

Disney's Monorail Red passes through the Grand Floridian Resort. It's being used as an Express Monorail, traveling counter-clockwise, and stopping only at the Magic Kingdom and The Transportation and Ticket Center. The Resort Monorails, traveling clock-wise, make additional stops at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary resorts.
