Stupid blah sky. Going inside this place ranks on my top 20 or so things to do in life. It was some religious almost-cult group's home a while ago, and then I think they had to abandon it for financial reasons. There's still furniture and peeling paint and sinks and bathtubs inside, all slowly disintegrating. I think they were considering turning it into luxury condos (of course), even though it's in a not-so-nice part of Philly near the industrial area. I wish they'd wait to do that until I could sneak in and take hundreds of photographs.

Whole roof is destroyed and needs a new roof
-Chipped ice away to do proper repair
-At least 20 leak sources
-Roof cemented and fabric 2, 3 inch pipes
-Installed a temp drain on top of existing drain sealed with roof fabric and cement
-20 feet of roof cement and membrane along perimeter of roof

Okay, they didn't really explode, just came apart on me while I was in attendance at my first meeting as a board member of my electric cooperative. I had dug them out of my closet because my other brown shoes had been wrecked with my truck. I was so embarrassed I left the meeting early; this is how my shoes looked when I got home!
Normally the totem poles are allowed to fall and disintegrate. Some of the ones in Skedans have been supported to preserve them a while longer.

I went ahead and wrapped my new tape dispenser's handle in baseball bat tape before the foam could disintegrate.

My old Advent Heritage speakers have, like many older speakers, foam surrounds. Over time, that foam breaks down until it finally starts to tear and disintegrate. At that point, your speakers are nonfunctional and will actually destroy their voice coils if you continue to try to play them.
