9x12 sharpie and crayon
I wanted to see if I would be able to melt the colors of the crayon together once they were already drawn on, which didn't work out, so I have to come up with a new plan.
Crumbling is not an instant's Act
A fundamental pause
Dilapidation's processes
Are organized Decays —
'Tis first a Cobweb on the Soul
A Cuticle of Dust
A Borer in the Axis
An Elemental Rust
Ruin is formal — Devil's work
Consecutive and slow —
Fail in an instant, no man did
Slipping is Crash's law

2nd Law of motion~If a body be acted on by several forces,it will obey each as though the others did not exist, and this whether the body be at rest or in motion.

After a visit to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, my husband requested a 3D Print of a Buck Rogers Disintegrator Gun. As luck would have it, there was already a model on Thingiverse www.thingiverse.com/thing:938752
The modeler recommended supports, but to save on printing time, material, and to reduce scarring and blemishes on the finish, I used Simplify3D to split the model in two halves.
More details on my 3D Printing Blog at www.tgaw.com AND on my brand new YouTube Channel at: www.youtube.com/channel/UCkKmkZGDoBtiQue8WSh-TfA

Well worth a visit if you are in the area (free entry). Pity about the mounting behind perspex making reflections impossible to avoid.
This is what happens when you spend $10,000 on a deck made from TREX. This deck is only two years old and is literally disintegrating, we’ve been in contact with the TREX company and they refuse to honor their, so-called, 20 year unlimited warranty. They insist that we buy new TREX material (and only TREX if we wanted to replace it with redwood they wouldn’t cover it) out of our own pocket, pay for labor out of our own pocket and then apply for reimbursement for the cost of material only they won’t pay for the labor to reinstall the deck.
We are currently part of a class action law suit that has been filed against the TREX company.
I am currently producing a video about my deck and my experiences with TREX and TREX company to be posted on Youtube.
Disintegrating street art seen in Lexington, Kentucky. Apparently a scene from Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" video (thanks Nick Leonard!).
When it's winter, it usually snows. Good reason to wear my holey garden/ (now mostly) snow shoveling boots.
The grey ones have been in this condition for some years. Somehow, I don't mind the snow that gets inside through the sole. Interesting because I've taken the trash out a few times in bare feet in the snow and the short walk to the curb becomes very painful from the cold, but I've worn these outside shoveling and even shopping for hours and the cold isn't an issue.
The other boots used to be green rubber boots, but the green rubber has hardened and now mostly crumbled away, leaving just the yellow cloth liner. But the liner is watertight. I've stepped in some big puddles with these and my feet have stayed dry, unlike the grey boots!

Dr. Grordbort Victory Sci Fi Series and a Sub-Atomic Disintegrator Pistol from the weapon collection. Very cool to see in person.
So much fun to wear my old Mostros until they fall off my feet, temporarily repair with rubber bands or tape, then add just enough adhesive to make them wearable again, until they fall apart again. You might ask why I don't use more glue so they wouldn't come apart so quick? Well, I enjoy wearing them with my toes and heels exposed. I wear these out shopping, taking long walks, whatever. And despite the condition, I've never gotten a comment or even a stare when I've worn them. Most people don't pay any attention.
Saw the Tron MakingOf the other day and thought i give that disintegration a quick shot getting back into teh groove...8 hours for EVERYTHING, scratch to finish. All rendered in 1 pass too with ghetto vray settings (No AA, -1 and 2 sampling, 1.5min/fr at 720p). Some utility passes like glow mask, zbuffer, IDs, etc. Character is from Poser exported in T-Pose and sloppily rigged with a biped. Mocap animation is from the advanced package for 3ds max subscription customers.
The setup is pretty much exactly like the Gazprom horse with minor speed up tweaks. Cubic fractures are done with Deconstructor from Angstraum (plugins.angstraum.at/) then baked back together and lock/bonded to the moving mesh. Volume Select deletes the intact mesh as the cubes progress through the character crumbling and ultimately taking it from the grid, vice versa only crumbling and progressing cubes are renderable. The front part and arms try to get back up until everything is crumbled. All baked with Supermesher.

This was in an old disintegrating album I found with my grandmother's collection of photos, but I have no way of knowing whether these are family or acquaintances or what. If these are part of my grandmother's family, then they are probably from Michigan or Pennsylvania, my grandmother's roots. However, she spent years researching her family; to my knowledge, she identified and labeled all of her family photos. So what are these???
