On 12 March 2015 The Polish Institute of International Affairs, The German Marshall Fund of the United States and Heinrich Boll Stiftung organized the expert workshop at PISM in Warsaw titled: Integration and Disintegration in the Euro Area: Which Way Forward?
Since 2007, financial, sovereign debt and banking crises have put the euro area to a serious test. The governments and EU institutions have responded with rescue packages, ad-hoc institutional changes and domestic reform as well as consolidation programs. Since 2012, markets have calmed down and, compared to 2007/2008, the euro area has better tools to prevent and handle financial shocks and macro-economic imbalances. However, recent developments in a number of member states point to potential political crises in an environment of low growth and rising inequality that may undermine efforts to stabilize the euro area. The challenge is to bring back growth and employment and improve the governance of the euro area at a time of rising criticism of the EU. If the euro area is indeed further deepened, the question arises how non-euro area member states can be most closely involved with the currency union as a way to improve the chances of future accession.

These were the first pair of "water shoes" I owned, perhaps 15 years ago. I think from Walmart, but I don't even remember. They are branded Aqua Gear.
They are men's 7, EU 40, or at least that's what the tag says. But they are quite snug, and the stitching over the top of my instep irritated my feet. I eventually pulled out the stitching around the top which made them more wearable, but still didn't wear them much.
I hadn't worn them for years. This summer I saw them when digging out a different pair and decided to wear them. I quickly discovered they are falling apart, the rubber sole is crumbling in places, and coming detached from the upper most everywhere..
I think I'll wear them on one of my afternoon hikes, and see how much is left by the end of the hike!

Tin wind up Robby the Robot olive green version by Billiken Shokai circa 1993. 9.4 inches tall. Comes with white metal disintegrator ray gun and a mini box to store it. I think I should get the brown version too.
Last night I had the pleasure of joining some friends for a wine tasting followed by a delicious dinner. Walking down Lafayette to meet them, this panel painting of the Creation Scene from the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo struck me.
The boards have grown weary from the time outside ... left to the elements. I think there's something evocative about the combination of natural erosion, beautiful story telling, and the general mass of humanity walking past unwittingly.
These Puma Mostros have been my go to shoes for some years. I've worn them for long hikes, wading in a river, for home construction projects, to work, you name it. And they have been slowly disintegrating for years. The original outersoles hardened, crumbled and have been flaking off since shortly after I got them. For the last few years the glue holding the uppers to the now super thin soles has been slowly failing. I've resisted repairs, although a year ago I reglued the tip of the toe on the left shoe back as the sole was flopping and I was tripping over it.
Several weeks ago, the tip of the right sole came unglued, but not so much, so it didn't cause a problem walking. So I left it like that, in the earlier pictures here you can see how nice and flexible the very thin soles are. My toes would comfortably hang over the unglued edges.
One day, just as I finished shopping, the rest of the adhesive on the right shoe failed, the sole was dangling, held on by the strap on the inside. But if I walked carefully, I could still wear them. Within a couple of hours, the left sole came unglued also, but did not dangle because it was still glued at the toe where I had earlier repaired it.
Now I still wore them around the house, but the sole flopped too much to wear outside. So I did a temporary repair, a rubber band around the flopping right sole. I could, and did, wear them shopping now, but the rubber band would slip off, and even on the left shoe, my toes would slide off the sole. So more permanent repairs were in order.
I first used a small amount of double back tape at the instep to stick the sole back on. That initially worked, but came loose. So I glued the instep back on. For now, I didn't glue the toe of the right shoe, or the heels, or the rest of the sides, I like them just repaired enough to stay on my feet. My toes comfortably hang over the edges of the very thin soles, which fold up nicely if I push my toes down to the ground.
I think I'll keep wearing them just like they are, minimally repaired.

I spy something beginning with s...
on candystripe legs the spiderman comes
softly through the shadow of the evening sun
stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
looking for the victim shivering in bed
searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
suddenly!
a movement in the corner of the room!
and there is nothing i can do
when i realize with fright
that the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!
quietly he laughs and shaking his head
creeps closer now
closer to the foot of the bed
and softer than shadow and quicker than flies
his arms are all around me and his tongue in my eyes
"be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
don't struggle like that or i will only love you more
for it's much too late to get away or turn on the light
the spiderman is having you for dinner tonight"
and i feel like i'm being eaten
by a thousand million shivering furry holes
and i know that in the morning i will wake up
in the shivering cold
and the spiderman is always hungry...
"Come into my parlour", said the spider to the fly... "I have something... "
I swear this spider has what appears to be glasses, a full beard a nose and hair... If you look closely...can you see it?
This sign says:
During the disintegration of Former Yugoslavia, the Republics of Serbia and Montenegro and the Yugoslav National Army commenced their aggression on Croatia. The brutal aggression on Dubrovnik and the southern part of Croatia was part of the masterplan of the so-called Great Serbia.
On October 1, 1991, the attack on Dubrovnik and the surrounding region was initiated from land, sea, and air. The southern part of Croatia was liberated on October 26, 1992. During this period, the City of Dubrovnik and its citizens underwent one of the greatest hardship in its history. Dubrovnik managed to retain its identity, uniqueness, and spirit throughout the long siege, without water and electricity, and cut off from the rest of Croatia and the world. The heroism of the city towards the daily bombardment, the systematic destruction of world heritage monuments, and the suffering of its citizens living in shelters, as well as the courage demonstrated by the Croatian defenders and by many of the citizens involved in the resistance efforts of Dubrovnik, portray the brighter side of the Homeland War. The enemy blockade of the immediate area of the City of Dubrovnik lasted up until July 1992. In spite of Croatia’s international recognition, intermittent attacks on the Dubrovnik region continued until the summer of 1995.
Between October 1991 to August 1995 more than 200 Croatian defenders died throughout the entire Dubrovnik region—soldiers, policemen, and sailors. More than 100 civilians died during the numerous attacks on Dubrovnik and its regions. More than 300 persons from the Dubrovnik region were incarcerated and tortured months on end in the prisoner camps that were set up by the Yugoslav National Army in Montenegro and eastern Herzeovina. Due to the aggression in the southernmost part of Croatia, about 33,000 people had to flee their homes.
The city of Dubrovnik dedicates this Memorial Room with eternal respect and gratitude to the Croatian defenders of the Dubrovnik region, who died under various circumstances in the defence and liberation of southern Croatia during the Homeland War—to those most deserving who ensured that the City of Dubrovnik would remain eternally the City of Freedom.

Oh I miss the kiss of treachery
The shameless kiss of vanity
The soft and the black and the velvety
Up tight against the side of me
And mouth and eyes and heart all bleed
And run in thickening streams of greed
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go
My party piece
Oh I miss the kiss of treachery
The aching kiss before I feed
The stench of a love for a younger meat
And the sound that it makes
When it cuts in deep
The holding up on bended knees
The addiction of duplicities
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go
My party piece
But I never said I would stay to the end
So I leave you with babies and hoping for frequency
Screaming like this in the hope of the secrecy
Screaming me over and over and over
I leave you with photographs
Pictures of trickery
Stains on the carpet and
Stains on the scenery
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
When we both us knew
How the ending would be...
So it's all come back round to breaking apart again
Breaking apart like I'm made up of glass again
Making it up behind my back again
Holding my breath for the fear of sleep again
Holding it up behind my head again
Cut in deep to the heart of the bone again
Round and round and round
And it's coming apart again
Over and over and over
Now that I know that I'm breaking to pieces
I'll pull out my heart
And I'll feed it to anyone
Crying for sympathy
Crocodiles cry for the love of the crowd
And the three cheers from everyone
Dropping through sky
Through the glass of the roof
Through the roof of your mouth
Through the mouth of your eye
Through the eye of the needle
It's easier for me to get closer to heaven
Than ever feel whole again
I never said I would stay to the end
I knew I would leave you with babies and everything
Screaming like this in the hole of sincerity
Screaming me over and over and over
I leave you with photographs
Pictures of trickery
Stains on the carpet and
Stains on the memory
Songs about happiness murmured in dreams
When we both of us knew
How the end always is
How the end always is...

These were one of the many pair of sneakers I purchased in the late 1990's when a sneaker chain near here folded and sold their remaining stock for a few dollars a pair. Most of them have fallen apart, but these were still in good condition until about a year ago when the air sacks crumbled. No problem, I actually find airless Nike airless air sneakers more fun to wear. Actually, after a few minutes I don't even notice the difference.
Anyway, the soles had started to crack. Then I wore them to a trade show, and the heel of the outersole on one sneaker came detached from the air sack and was dragging on the floor as I walked. I had to borrow some duct tape from an exhibitor to make a repair. I intended to glue the heel back on, but I've worn these from time to time since, and the duct tape is still holding.
So much fun to wear my old Mostros until they fall off my feet, temporarily repair with rubber bands or tape, then add just enough adhesive to make them wearable again, until they fall apart again. You might ask why I don't use more glue so they wouldn't come apart so quick? Well, I enjoy wearing them with my toes and heels exposed. I wear these out shopping, taking long walks, whatever. And despite the condition, I've never gotten a comment or even a stare when I've worn them. Most people don't pay any attention.

What Is The Id?
The id is the primitive and instinctive component of personality.
The id is a part of the unconscious that contains all the urges and impulses, including what is called the libido, a kind of generalized sexual energy that is used for everything from survival instincts to appreciation of art. he id is the impulsive (and unconscious) part of our psyche that responds directly and immediately to basic urges, needs, and desires. The personality of the newborn child is all id, and only later does it develop an ego and super-ego.
The id engages in primary process thinking, which is primitive, illogical, irrational, and fantasy-oriented. This form of process thinking has no comprehension of objective reality, and is selfish and wishful in nature.
The id operates on the pleasure principle (Freud, 1920), that every unconscious wishful impulse should be satisfied immediately, regardless of the consequences.
When the id achieves its demands, we experience pleasure, and when it is denied, we experience ‘unpleasure’ or tension.
The id comprises two kinds of biological instincts (or drives), including the sex (life) instinct called Eros (which contains the libido) and the aggressive (death) instinct called Thanatos.
Eros, or life instinct, helps the individual to survive; it directs life-sustaining activities such as respiration, eating, and sex (Freud, 1925). The energy created by the life instinct is known as libido.
In contrast, Thanatos, or death instinct, is viewed as a set of destructive forces in all human beings (Freud, 1920).
When this energy is directed outward onto others, it is expressed as aggression and violence. Freud believed that Eros was stronger than Thanatos, thus enabling people to survive rather than self-destruct.
The id remains infantile in its function throughout a person’s life and does not change with time or experience, as it is not in touch with the external world.
The id is not affected by reality, logic, or the everyday world, as it operates within the unconscious part of the mind.
www.simplypsychology.org/psyche.html
According to Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, the id is the primitive and instinctual part of the mind that contains sexual and aggressive drives and hidden memories, the super-ego operates as a moral conscience, and the ego is the realistic part that mediates between the desires of the id and the super-ego..
The basic dilemma of all human existence is that each element of the psychic apparatus makes demands upon us incompatible with the other two. Inner conflict is inevitable. For example, the superego can make a person feel guilty if rules are not followed. When there is a conflict between the goals of the id and superego, the ego must act as a referee and mediate this conflict. The ego can deploy various defense mechanisms (Freud, 1894, 1896) to prevent it from becoming overwhelmed by anxiety.

The persona, for Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, is the social face the individual presented to the world—"a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and on the other to conceal the true nature of the individual."
Jung's persona Identification. In psychoanalytic theory, the id, ego and superego are three distinct, interacting agents in the psychic apparatus, defined in Sigmund Freud's structural model of the psyche. The three agents are theoretical constructs that Freud employed to describe the basic structure of mental life as it was a movie for yourdelf as guest-star. In the ego psychology model of the psyche, the id is the set of uncoordinated instinctual desires; the superego plays the critical and moralizing role; and the ego is the organized, realistic agent that mediates between the instinctual desires of the id and the critical superego;[1] Freud compared the ego (in its relation to the id) to a man on horseback: the rider must harness and direct the superior energy of his mount, and at times allow for a practicable satisfaction of its urges. The ego is thus "in the habit of transforming the id's will into action, as if it were its own.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id,_ego_and_superego
According to Jung, the development of a viable social persona is a vital part of adapting to, and preparing for, adult life in the external social world. "A strong ego relates to the outside world through a flexible persona; identifications with a specific persona (doctor, scholar, artist, etc.) inhibits psychological development."For Jung, "the danger is that [people] become identical with their personas—the professor with his textbook, the tenor with his voice."The result could be "the shallow, brittle, conformist kind of personality which is 'all persona', with its excessive concern for 'what people think'"—an unreflecting state of mind "in which people are utterly unconscious of any distinction between themselves and the world in which they live. They have little or no concept of themselves as beings distinct from what society expects of them."[6] The stage was set thereby for what Jung termed enantiodromia—the emergence of the repressed individuality from beneath the persona later in life: "the individual will either be completely smothered under an empty persona or an enantiodromia into the buried opposites will occur."
Disintegration
"The breakdown of the persona constitutes the typically Jungian moment both in therapy and in development"—the "moment" when "that excessive commitment to collective ideals masking deeper individuality—the persona—breaks down... disintegrates."[8] Given Jung's view that "the persona is a semblance... the dissolution of the persona is therefore absolutely necessary for individuation." Nevertheless, the persona's disintegration may lead to a state of chaos in the individual: "one result of the dissolution of the persona is the release of fantasy... disorientation."[As the individuation process gets under way, "the situation has thrown off the conventional husk and developed into a stark encounter with reality, with no false veils or adornments of any kind."
Negative restoration
One possible reaction to the resulting experience of archetypal chaos was what Jung called "the regressive restoration of the persona," whereby the protagonist "laboriously tries to patch up his social reputation within the confines of a much more limited personality... pretending that he is as he was before the crucial experience."[Similarly in treatment there can be "the persona-restoring phase, which is an effort to maintain superficiality;"[13] or even a longer phase designed not to promote individuation but to bring about what Jung caricatured as "the negative restoration of the persona"—that is to say, a reversion to the status quo.
Absence
The alternative is to endure living with the absence of the persona—and for Jung "the man with no persona... is blind to the reality of the world, which for him has merely the value of an amusing or fantastic playground." Inevitably, the result of "the streaming in of the unconscious into the conscious realm, simultaneously with the dissolution of the 'persona' and the reduction of the directive force of consciousness, is a state of disturbed psychic equilibrium."[Those trapped at such a stage remain "blind to the world, hopeless dreamers... spectral Cassandras dreaded for their tactlessness, eternally misunderstood."
Restoration
Restoration, the aim of individuation, "is not only achieved by work on the inside figures but also, as conditio sine qua non, by a readaptation in outer life"—including the recreation of a new and more viable persona. To "develop a stronger persona... might feel inauthentic, like learning to 'play a role'... but if one cannot perform a social role then one will suffer." One goal for individuation is for people to "develop a more realistic, flexible persona that helps them navigate in society but does not collide with nor hide their true self." Eventually, "in the best case, the persona is appropriate and tasteful, a true reflection of our inner individuality and our outward sense of self."
Later developments
The persona has become one of the most widely adopted aspects of Jungian terminology, passing into almost common vocabulary: "a mask or shield which the person places between himself and the people around him, called by some psychiatrists the persona." For Eric Berne, "the persona is formed during the years from six to twelve, when most children first go out on their own... to avoid unwanted entanglements or promote wanted ones."He was interested in "the relationship between ego states and the Jungian persona," and considered that "as an ad hoc attitude, persona is differentiated also from the more autonomous identity of Erik Erikson."Perhaps more contentiously, in terms of life scripts, he distinguished "the Archetypes (corresponding to the magic figures in a script) and the Persona (which is the style the script is played in)." Post-Jungians would loosely call the persona "the social archetype of the conformity archetype," though Jung always distinguished the persona as an external function from those images of the unconscious he called archetypes. Thus, whereas Jung recommended conversing with archetypes as a therapeutic technique he himself had employed—"For decades I always turned to the anima when I felt my emotional behavior was disturbed, and I would speak with the anima about the images she communicated to me"—he stressed that "It would indeed be the height of absurdity if a man tried to have a conversation with his persona, which he recognized merely as a psychological means of relationship."

Metanoia (from the Greek μετάνοια, metanoia, "changing one's mind") has been used in psychology since at least the time of American philosopher/psychologist William James to describe a process of fundamental change in the human personality.
The term derives from the Ancient Greek words μετά (metá) (meaning "beyond" or "after") and νόος (noeō) (meaning "perception" or "understanding" or "mind"), and takes on different meanings in different contexts. The Greek term μετάνοια metanoia is made up of the preposition μετά (that which surpasses, encompasses, puts above) and the verb νοέω (to perceive, to think), and means "change of view" or "change of outlook" which sees thought and action transformed in a significant, even decisive way. Although he places himself outside the field of philosophy and differentiates it from the meaning the word ordinarily possesses in the religious sense, René Guénon makes it a synonym for "conversion".In his concept of the individuation process, Carl Gustav Jung uses this term to designate a transformation of the psyche through a kind of healing initiated by unconscious forces. It's a complete transformation of the person, very much like that which takes place inside a chrysalis. In his concept of the individuation process, Carl Gustav Jung uses this term to designate a transformation of the psyche through a kind of healing initiated by unconscious forces. In response to a brutal episode, our minds are often driven to metamorphosis. Self-repair, a return to our origins, a change in our state of consciousness: here are a few explanations of the metanoia process. A spontaneous attempt by the mind to heal itself? Metanoia is an ancient concept. Etymologically, the word "metanoia" comes from the Greek meta (a prefix meaning change, succession, going beyond, that which surpasses us, inducing an idea of transformation) and noïa (from noos or noüs: spirit, idea).
Philosophy, theology and even analytical psychology have their own particular interpretations of this word, all tending towards the same common idea: a reversal of thought, a turning around by which man opens up to something greater than himself within himself, beyond rational thought. The psychologist Carl Gustav Jung developed the use of the word "metanoia" to indicate a spontaneous attempt by the mind to heal itself of an unbearable conflict by melting away, and then, by being reborn, in a more adaptive form (which could be compared by metaphor to the different stages of tadpoles that eventually turn into frogs).
This movement can be triggered by a particular experience, such as illness, failure or suffering... It's as if Life were putting us to the test in order to help us move out of our comfort zone and into a more evolved form of ourselves. Metanoia is therefore a process akin to an attempt at self-repair. A kind of self-healing. Returning to the other side of the mirror... to see reality. Metanoia is a return to our origins, a change in our state of consciousness. If we look into a mirror, our rational thinking will tell us that we're looking at our reflection in a mirror, that what we see is virtual. Metanoia means going back to the other side of the mirror... to see reality.
To take the example of our tadpoles, this notion of return (change based on inversion) is directly linked to metamorphosis. It begins with an "initial" being - our tadpole - and takes it through different structural stages, until it returns (or gives back) a being analogous (but not identical) to the initial being (the frog).
A journey in three stages
1. inward movement
The aim is to redirect our attention inward, by being present, motionless, fully aware of the thoughts that inhabit us, and not to transform them, but to channel them.
2. "Taking care of our Being (therappeia)
We awaken a new way of looking at ourselves, our way of being in relation to others, situations and aggressions. In this process, in which we are returned to ourselves, discernment (lucidity) about our inner reality is born, enabling us to disidentify and thus free ourselves.
3. Awareness
We are led to recognize and accept our state. In order to heal our wounds, whether physical or emotional, we need to become aware of them, name them and accept them, so that they can be transformed.
Metanoia should not be confused with the benefits of reading the great spiritual masters. While reading Goethe or Steiner will be very inspiring, for metanoia, there is only one path: the one that passes through our body and our physical experience. In order to relearn how to let our intuitive thinking express itself, we need to connect with our five senses, since it is through them that we apprehend the world. Aromatherapy, breath techniques (yoga, cardiac coherence), a healthy, living diet, mindfulness, meditative walking, massage and contemplation of nature (or theôria) are all tools widely used in naturopathy to naturally stimulate our five senses. Easterners have always taken this path with yoga, Qi Gong and the martial arts. This passage through the body, with its particular postures, also existed in the initiation centers of ancient Greece.

William James used the term metanoia to refer to a fundamental and stable change in an individual's life-orientation.[1] Carl Gustav Jung developed the usage to indicate a spontaneous attempt of the psyche to heal itself of unbearable conflict by melting down and then being reborn in a more adaptive form – a form of self healing often associated with the mid-life crisis and psychotic breakdown, which can be viewed as a potentially productive process.[2] Jung considered that psychotic episodes in particular could be understood as an existential crisis which might be an attempt at self-reparation: in such instances metanoia could represent a shift in the balance of the personality away from the persona towards the shadow and the self.
Jung's concept of metanoia was an influence on R.D. Laing and his emphasis on the dissolution and replacement of everyday ego consciousness.Laing's colleague, David Cooper, considered that "metanoia means change from the depths of oneself upwards into the superficies of one's social appearance" – a process that in the second of its three stages "generates the 'signs' of depression and mourning". Similarly influenced was the therapeutic community movement. Ideally, it aimed to support people whilst they broke down and went through spontaneous healing, rather than thwarting such efforts at self-repair by strengthening a person's existing character defences and thereby maintaining the underlying conflict. The Dutch psychiatrist Jan Foudraine wrote extensively about it, tracing its history through the work of Jung and Laing, and eventually considering it “a permanent change in gestalt.” He cites an example where one sees a black vase, then one blinks, and instead one sees two white faces in profile opposite each other (the Rubin vase). In transactional analysis, metanoia is used to describe the experience of abandoning an old scripted self or false self for a more open one: a process which may be marked by a mixture of intensity, despair, self-surrender, and an encounter with the inner void.

Having given up on the disintegrating Nike hiking boots for now, I dug out some of my other boots. These Tony Lama cowboy boots are my favorites. Size 6 1/2 EEE I can hardly call them tight, just very comfortable.
The holes in the outersoles seem to grow a little every time I wear them but there seem to be several more layers. They don't even leak in the rain.

They were already pretty worn, with holes in the soles, but the outersole on the right sneaker was still somewhat attached.
I immediately started wearing them as one of my regular bicycling shoe pairs. That wore them down more. At some point the front of the outersole on the right shoe came loose. (The toe hole was already there.) So, since it was starting to drag and catch the ground as I was riding, I pulled it off. And they've been pretty much like this ever since.
Since I was making a point of wearing some of my secrepit shoes, I wore my old Puma Mostros for the day.
I suspect the soles are about to come loose aagin and I may have to once more reattch them in a couple of places.

When I started my walk, the Shox on one side were a little loose, but then they completely tore loose, and by the time I dragged them home, the other side was coming loose.
I am trying to decide what to do? Glue them back together (I do kind of like these)? Do a quick repair, perhaps with some wire to keep them from flopping so far, trying to keep wearing them as they are (not easy, the Shox keep flopping all the way under my toes as I walk), or tearing the Shox off completely and wearing them with no heels (as I've done with a couple of other pair of disintegrating Nikes.)

An update, I "repaired" the flopping heel with a piece of wire under it tied through the unused lace holes. That limited the amount of "flop" to make them wearable again. A most interesting feeling as the Shox units slip sideways out one side or the other. But now I see the sole on one side holding the Shox heel to the front of the shoe has cracked through, only the other side is holding it on.
I'll keep wearing them around the house like this, but think I'll have to do a more solid repair before wearing them outside, unless I must decide to let the Shox heel part fall off completely. We'll see.
This disintegrating cattail is for unruly_e who has challenged me more than once this year to delve a little further into iPhoneography. I took this one on my dslr a couple of months ago and he challenged me to improve the processing using phone apps. I promised to give a whirl within the next 6 months, and here I am with the very subtly improved version only a couple of months later! Having begun with a highly processed image to begin with, it took quite a lot of work to find the apps that could make the tiny changes I wanted to make without otherwise disturbing the image. The casual observer probably wouldn't be able to see the differences, but I know...
This begins my acceptance of the challenge! The next step is to set down the dslr and pick up the iPhone as my exclusive weapon for the coming year. I still have a few days to make the decision, don't I?

ZERO GRAVITY
ZERO GRAVITY disintegration
The Unique landmark is meant to serve the social gatherings and multifunctions for the surrounding citizens. It also serves as a energy harvest plant, store energy during the day and light the surroundings at night.
Modular framework operated by means of Hydraulic modules to add Multistoreyed adjustable Community lounges for meetings and social activities. The storeys can be added occasionally as per the area requirements.
The unit converts sunlight into energy thereby used for glowing during the night and storing the surplus energy for social emergencies. It surely will serve as a site identifier with a Strong aesthetic appeal and overall contribution to the city and community. This experience rouses a sense of witnessing a deconstructive experience.
The design mimics the visionary aesthetics of apparent phenomenon of geological responses of zero gravity on earth. The design relates to the speed of propagation of negative gravitational force or extreme vacuum created by gravityless environment on earths crust.. Zero gravity is one where the acceleration induced by gravity has little or no measurable effect, gravity itself does not change. This zero gravity phenomenon bears resemblance to the earth's crust disintegration or a blowing apocalyptic landscape. The terms Weightlessness and Zero-G refer to this same environment
A single visual identity balancing the strong verticality of the dominant surrounding volumes of the built mass. The Visual appearance of landmark exhibit unpredictability, enigma, illusionistic disquieting ,controlled chaos and the unsuspecting with a special sense of presence which in process to be transmitted to the spectator very strongly. Provokes in us an uncanny feeling followed by perceptual and symptomatical effects of unusual patterns of spontaneous , visionary nature, demonstrating self dynamism .
Deconstructive theory aptly enlivens and portrays the ZERO GRAVITY concept which seeks the attention of the visitors. The visual character portraying the aspects of,freedom, self dynamism at the same lends the landmark a dynamic urban identity pointing towards the visionary future.Based upon the observations of human responses towards Deconstruction, It alerts our expectant eye, for it not to become lethargic; to keep our vision fresh and to prevent the boredom of repetition. It demands attention of the spectator. Moreover, the forms of deconstruction stand out against the geometrical forms of modernism and classicism
The landmark tower visually lend an extension and a balance to the strong verticality of the surround building blocks/ mass.
The works use sensors and proximity detectors and distributed networks of microprocessors .Proximity sensors concealed in the road in front of the proposed landmark site glows multiple LED lights on the structure that blink as visitors pass triggering an emotional response from visitors during night as they interact with technology. The materials and components in the zone produce a reactive environment able to detect the presence of visitors. indirectly denoting the no of people around, thereby serving as a traffic denoter/meter as viewed from adjacent nearby places.
The walls of the landmark tower refer a system of connected luminous fractals are comprised of connected glowing plastic fractals made of alternate bands of revolutionary plastic material comprised of multiple nanostructured layers of semiconducting organic materials [organic photovoltaic (OPV) technology ]. The flexible luminescent plastic modules which convert light into electrical energy .it takes light in and delivers power out. The Plastic module utilizes a wider range of the light spectrum than conventional solar cells and allows all visible light sources to be used to generate power. The film easily conforms to a variety of product-design applications and is available with various colors and shapes .
When integrated into products, this direct current electrical energy can be used immediately, stored for later use, or converted to other forms of energy. the cubical modules can be inter linked or add-ons to create a modern and sculptural lighting element The shape of the modules is similar to the paver blocks of the road to accentuate the feeling of ZERO GRAVITY.All modules are addable, moveable, rotateable and shiftable. You can link as many or as few modules as you want horizontally and vertically.
