Nature is reclaiming her spot of earth. Located in Lancaster County, Virginia.

Second shot with new camera! So excited.

As the United States of America continues to disintegrate in front of our eyes and the eyes of the entire world, simple things remind us of the reality of our creation. Like a turtle swimming for a piece of bread in a pond. Though power-hungry politicians think they are in complete control, the only control they have is what God permits them to have. And God can end all of it in a moment.

I suspect it is possible that this turtle is looked upon by God with more pride than the humans He endowed with so much more opportunity than a turtle.

Ochagavía (Otsagabia in Basque and co-officially) is a Spanish town and municipality of the Foral Community of Navarra, located in Merindad de Sangüesa, in the Salazar valley, in the Roncal-Salazar region and 85 km from the capital of the community, Pamplona. Its population in 2017 was 534 inhabitants (INE).

Ochagavía is located to the north of the Foral Community of Navarra, it is the head of the Salazar Valley. Its municipal term occupies an area of 115.03 km² and limits to the north with Izalzu, the Irati forest and Francia, to the east with the Roncal Valley, to the west with the Aézcoa Valley, and to the south with Ezcároz.

In the 14th century the Salazar valley was divided into 3 quinones (demarcations) and Ochagavía formed one of them. The Junta administered the valley politically and economically. In 1699 it obtained, like the rest of the Quinones, jurisdictional autonomy, although the definitive administrative disintegration did not arrive until 1864, although the General Board of the Valley continued to exist. In 1794 the French invaded peninsular territory and in Ochagavía completely destroyed 182 houses, 52 huts and the hermitage of San Martín, which was located next to the bridge that leads to the town, by road, and the Muskilda sanctuary, it is not known why, they didn't burn it. By the middle of the 19th century the town was already rebuilt. It was rebuilt on the same site and the traditional wooden roofs were replaced by tile ones. There are still some oak clapboard roofs such as in the church tower and in the Muskilda shrine. Agriculture and livestock was the main economic activity of the town during the Middle Ages. In addition, the local climate forced the periodic transhumance of the cattle to the winter pastures of the Ribera de Navarra. With the grass of the mountain they fattened pigs to supply the houses. Still in the XV century, wood, exploited only for construction and local domestic needs, did not constitute wealth. In addition to a flour mill, a weaving mill, a loom, which have now disappeared, the artisan industry focused on livestock products such as leather tanning and cheese making. Today, Ochagavía distributes its population in very diverse economic activities, among which agriculture, livestock and forestry stand out; The tourism; construction and public administration, especially.

Alternate Title: This House is for the Birds!

If you have ever seen Alfred Hitchcock’s movie ‘The Birds,’ you may be curious as to the location of the training facility for the crows used in the film. Yep! It was this house. You can see there is an outdoor facility for Purple Martins. This helped to attract the crows, as did all the vegetation which fooled them into thinking it was a big tree.

The crows were trained inside the house until they could be trusted not to fly away. Little balls of white Wonder Bread were used as treats. The crows loved them and the wet ball of heavy dough in their stomachs slowed them down.

There were many mishaps during the training of the crows. Several of the trainers got broken bones from slipping on crow poop. There were quite a few eggs laid as well. No crows were hurt in the training process, however.

After the crows were shipped to the movie set, this facility had to be closed. Apparently, the foot of crow poop on the floor could never be totally scraped off. Also, neighbors complained that, even over 50 years later, there was a considerable stench coming from the house.

Things are changing in Lakeland. Barns needing roof repairs, intake walls disintegrating, field walls slowly disappearing, tree growth going unchecked and forests springing up over night.

The accepted wisdom seams to be that sheep create an unnatural desert and that diversity is the name of the game, let streams flow naturally and encourage the natural tree coverage to progress. The beloved "natural" landscape of the Lake District that found favour a generation ago is now anathema.

Three nights on and Comet C/2024 G3 (Atlas) appears to have disintegrated a bit, as the nucleus is less intensely bright. The upside is that the tail is longer.

In this view from Sinclair Head, Wellington, G3 is setting towards Mount Tapuae-o-Uenuku in the Inland Kaikōura Range, one of northern South Island's iconic mountains.

There was not a lot of light by this time and some short trails are noticeable due to the long exposure and long focal length.
