This lovely blue bird with black mask is the Blue Dacnis (male)
The Brazilian name is Saí azul and the scientific ID: Dacnis cayana

This American Staffordshire Terrier appears to camouflage herself, matching up with the snow and fence work.
This dog is an agility trained, sweet female that likes to 'peep'
-- keeping well aware, and in the know of her surroundings and goings-on.

Red squirrels are tricky, mischievous little critters. I think this one was adding a bearded disguise to try to out smart me. This was shot a few years ago but they continue to play mind games with me.

The Kori Bustard (Ardeotis kori) is a large bird native to Africa. It is a member of the bustard family, which all belong to the order Gruiformes and are restricted in distribution to the Old World. It is one of the four species (ranging from Africa to India to Australia) in the large-bodied Ardeotis genus. In fact, the male Kori Bustard may be the heaviest living animal capable of flight. This species, like most bustards, is a ground-dwelling bird and an opportunistic omnivore. Male Kori Bustards, which can be more than twice as heavy than the female, attempt to breed with as many females as possible and then take no part in the raising of the young. The nest is a shallow hallow into the earth, often disguised by nearby obstructive objects such as trees. The specific epithet kori is derived from the Tswana name for this bird - Kgori.

The weather forecast announced no sunshine for the Holy Evening. They were wrong (again) and we enjoyed a great walk before celebrating. Bad Oeynhausen, Ostwestfalen, Germany
Lots of bunny tracks around here this morning. They seem to know when there is no dog around. I'm always amazed by the abundance of wildlife outside my door. Too bad it wasn't wearing a white winter coat but it still cheered me up, nonetheless. I had a bad morning getting stuck in a swamp with my skidoo, the new snow and ice disguised the water underneath. I swear I have a permanent black cloud over my head.
It was as if this bunny was saying "Listen Up, don't think you are eating me for Easter" It sure got fat off all the oats my horses left behind this winter. I do eat bunnies this time of year but it is the white chocolate ones ;-)
Its always a treat to come across a badger so when I spotted this one meandering through some bushes on the side of the road I slammed on my breaks and proceeded to stalk it for a photo. Unfortunately the lighting through the bushes made for lots of shadows but you can certainly see how that makes that badgers fur pattern excellent for disguising it in dappled shade. .

I never dreamed that mayfly costume would really work...Vermilion Flycatcher heading my way along the Devils River in the Nature Conservancy's Dolan Falls Preserve.
Carrying on the Godrevy theme; I do like LE however, why would you disguise the reflections of light on the ripples of the sea?

Well they were testing conditions to start with, and I took this before any sunlight appeared and with wet underpants. The cloud had just lifted off the distant mountains, the Langdale Pikes, and the view was beginning to open up for me as the breeze slowly dried my nethers.
I can't deny it is a great view from Holme Fell, out over the slate quarry workings of Hodge Close and to the North West. I just needed some splashes of sunlight rather than the lashing rain and hail that came to soak me again, several times over.
At first glance, I was almost sure this bug was a wasp but its actually a type of beetle. Things like this is what makes the micro world so amazing. After taking the shot, I still believed it was a wasp until I was able to get it identified.

The floor panels are always so cold in hyperspace, she shivers as a chemical is released simulating goosebumps on her synthetic skin starting at her tailbone traveling up her spine. The stubble at the back of her skull prickles outward in a chain reaction that is produced for no reason other then to emulate human nature.
Flit wonders why she was built so much like them, why they cared that she was warm and knew all of the star wars references. One day she would even find herself contemplating her very existence while tinkering with the small Bir-D Bot toy she was given to keep her entertained in her quarters.

On June 2nd we had general elections in Mexico. We had two choices:
to continue with the populist, inefficient, corrupt and conservative government that we have since the last six years, but disguised as a liberal left-side party
or
to give the chance to rule to a strange mixed coalition that could restore a better social policies.
The preliminary results are not good, so it seems that we missed the last train to a better future. Hope that I am wrong.
